They’d grown up with Chase and knew how much Ashley liked him. Ashley was pretty but qui and nothing special- not Chase’s type. They didn’t like her much either. They rarely saw her and never greeted her. Ethan wasn’t even sure if it was Ashley. Even if it was her, he didn’t care. He went back to the room.

Cindy saw the breakfast and was really jealous of the one who married Ashley. But then she realized it was Chase, so she didn’t say anything.
She started playing on her phone. Her face changed.“Chase’s back?”
“Yes.”
Cindy showed her Ethan’s post. It was several pictures from last night’s party. He said, “Happy birthday to the beautiful birthday girl!” Four or five photos were of Chase and Tanya. They cut the cake together. Sam wasn’t in any of the pictures. They were keeping it secret from Chase’s grandmother, as she and Ashley’s grandmother were friends. Chase’s grandma disliked Tanya because of what happened between their mothers. The photos made them look like a couple. It was a birthday party Chase had arranged for Tanya.
