“All radar?” Nan Zhizhi paused, finally looking at him.“Tell me.” He might not trust others, but he would listen to Chase.
Chase, seemingly unconcerned about leaks, began discussing the technology. Ashley and Tim, equally intrigued, listened intently, forgetting their meal until Steve reminded them. At the main table, only Ashley was familiar with Chase. Nan Zhizhi clearly wanted nothing to do with him. Despite this, Chase dominated the conversation.
After Tim’s reminder, Chase subtly offered Ashley some meat. Many at the table looked over. Ashley murmured, “Thank you.” He continued talking to Nan Zhizhi. She didn’t eat the meat. While their table maintained a semblance of order, the arrival of Nan Zhizhi had caused a sensation amongst the other guests. They immediately informed their friends at the Sun family’s banquet.
The news reached the Suns and Lins. Vivian, unfamiliar with Nan Zhizhi and not a follower of national news, asked Tanya, “Who is Nan Zhizhi? Why is everyone reacting so strongly? Is he important?”
