Pay closer attention to the latest industry developments.” Chase returned. Before he could speak, Nan Zhizhi said, “I’ve done what I needed to. I’ll contact you in a few days.”

She nodded.“He didn’t accept me.”
“What did he say? Tell me.”

Tanya paused. She had neglected her studies lately and hadn’t been keeping up with industry news. Nan Zhizhi had likely seen her lack of effort and focus, concluding that her attitude wasn’t suitable for his mentorship.
Realizing it was her attitude, not her abilities, that had led to the rejection, Tanya felt better. Chase said, “Try again later.”
