Chapter 262
Ashley and Tim worked until 5:30 PM, finally wrapping up. The ZongXing and XunDu contract was finalized. Mr. Jin invited them to rest and have some tea. Seeing Ren Jifeng and the others finish as well, he said, “It’s getting late. How about dinner?”
Ren Jifeng glanced at Tanya. She seemed oblivious, saying, “Sorry, Chase is picking me up soon. We have other plans.”
Losing interest, Ren Jifeng replied, “I have things to do as well. Next time.” Tanya showed no reaction.
Tim found it increasingly clear that Ren Jifeng was into Tanya, and only decided against dinner because she wasn’t coming.
Mr. Jin, somewhat embarrassed by their refusals, asked Tim, “Mr. Reed, how about you-” ree, aren’t we, Ashley?” His smile subtly
Tim clinked his teacup against Ashley’s, smirking
mocked Ren Jifeng.
“Mm–hmm,” Ashley replied.
Tanya noticed Tim’s kindness towards Ashley. She frowned.
Ren Jifeng and Tanya, though not joining them for dinner, left with Ashley and Tim. Tanya took a call.
Putting down her phone, she said, “Chase will be here soon. I’ll go with you guys.” Downstairs, Chase was waiting. He greeted Ren Jifeng and Tim, glancing at Ashley without speaking. Tanya stood beside him as he exited his car–the picture of a devoted couple.
Ren Jifeng chatted with Chase. Tim, lips pursed, said coldly, “Mr. Sterling, we’re going to dinner. We’ll see ourselves out.”
“Have a good evening, Mr. Reed,” Chase replied.
Tim and Ashley left first.
After dinner with Mr. Jin, Ashley drove home. Zark called as soon as she arrived.
