An hour later, Quan brought them coffee. Tim took a sip.“Good coffee! Better than before. Your company perks are improving.”
Quan, shifting to gossip mode, said, “Thanks to Ms. Lin.”
Tim rolled his eyes. Everything was related to Tanya. He set down his cup, glancing at Ashley. “I’m thirsty,” she said, drinking her coffee.
Tim sighed. Quan continued, “Mr. Sterling gave Ms. Lin a project.”
“Mm–hmm.”
“She’s probably leading a big project for the first time. Worried about messing up, her team’s been working overtime. They worked until 10 PM yesterday.”
Tim said flatly, “Oh.”
“She’s really dedicated. She’s not treating the project like a joke, even though she’s Mr. Sterling’s girlfriend.”
Tim scoffed.“Is it not because she’s incompetent that she needs so many people working overtime?”
Quan understood.“People need to grow.”
“Perhaps.” He looked at Ashley.“Our Ashley handled
a large project flawlessly.”
Quan, having met Ashley several times, now knew she was even more skilled than Tim. He said, “At least her attitude is good. With her attitude and Mr. Sterling’s investment, she’ll achieve great things.”
