Chapter 359
Ashley went to the restroom. Emerging, she ran into Chase. He didn’t speak, perhaps unsure what to say. Ashley was about to pass him when she stopped.“When are we officially getting the divorce certificate?” She knew he was eager to finalize it, to be free to be with Tanya. She’d avoided asking, but enough time had passed…
Chase said, “In a while.”
“No specific date?”
D’ll let you know.”
As she was leaving, Chase said, “Grandma knows we’re divorcing.”
“Good,” Ashley replied. At least she wouldn’t be pressured anymore, and she wouldn’t have to pretend.
“Mm–hm.”
They walked in silence. Someone ran around a corner, bumping into Ashley. She stumbled against Chase, who instinctively steadied her. The person apologized and rushed into the restroom. Ashley tried to pull away, but Ren Jifeng appeared. Seeing Ashley against Chase, with Chase’s hand on her waist, he stopped short.“You…”

Ren Jifeng watched her go, then turned to Chase. Chase smiled faintly.“Mr. Ren, restroom, too?” Ren Jifeng replied curtly,“…Yes.”
Chase nodded and left. Ren Jifeng’s lips tightened. He’d only known they’d met at Xun Corporation, never exchanged words. That was normal; Ashley was a low–level technician at Longmo, unlikely to interact with Chase.
Then came the gala. Chase had approached Ashley for Tanya’s sake. That should have been their only interaction. But what had he just witnessed?
