The collaboration with Brooks went smoothly. Two days later, they signed the contract. Brooks had other engagements and left Eternal.
Tired after a long day, Ashley and Tim returned to the meeting room to have some hot drinks. Then, Tim’s secretary walked in, piling a thick stack of invitations in front of them.“These are the invitations we’ve received for the year–end parties.”
There were at least thirty invitations, including those from Jeffery, Zark, Sterling Corporation, and Speed. Ashley and Tim even noticed an invitation from the Mond family, addressed to both Tim and, surprisingly, Ashley.
Tim leaned back against the table, holding the Mond family’s invitation. He chuckled, “Looks like our company’s quite charming.”
It wasn’t so much their company’s charm as the irresistible allure of their two latest projects and CUAP to the Monds. They’d even invited Ashley. They must be desperate. They didn’t know that Eternal’s most important technologies were not Tim’s…
A deeper smile played on Tim’s lips. Besides the Monds, the invitations from Cooper Corporation, Speed, and Sterling Corporation also included Ashley’s name. Only Zark’s was different; he’d sent two separate invitations.
Tim clicked his tongue.“I like Zark.”
Ashley and Zark’s last meeting was on the morning he asked if she was Burke’s student. Hearing Tim’s comment, Ashley didn’t speak.
Tim looked at the invitations.“Let’s skip Cooper’s, Speed, Sterling’s, and Mond’s. We’ll only attend the parties of companies we collaborate well with, like Zark’s?”
They could send gifts to Jeffery and others as a gesture. But Sterling Corp, Speed, and Mond

That was exactly what Ashley thought. Besides handling work stuff, she and Tim were focused on the materials Burke had given them. They didn’t want to waste time on unnecessary social
events.
Eternal was also preparing for its own party, but their invitations wouldn’t go out for a couple of days. It was the end of the year, and they needed to finalize business with Speed before the lunar New Year.
The next day, Ashley and Charlie went to Speed. She ran into Tanya, but they ignored each other, focusing on their own work.
While Ashley was busy, she noticed someone looking at her. It was Neal. She glanced back, then looked away. Neal had come to the city for four days. After two days of sightseeing, he felt bored at home. He learned his sister was working at his future brother–in–law’s company and came to check it out. He saw Ashley and thought she was an employee.
Noticing Ashley’s brief glance, he curiously asked the guy who brought him in,“What are they working on?”
“I’m

The employee said, “Miss Mond is in a meeting. Do you want to go in?”
Neal followed. He noticed everyone in the meeting attentively listening to Tanya.“They seem to respect my sister.”
The employee smiled, “Of course. Miss Mond is outstanding. Everyone in our team loves her.” He didn’t mention the great perks they received because of Tanya’s connection with Chase.
Neal smiled. He didn’t want to disturb Tanya’s work.“Take me somewhere else.”
“Okay.”
They walked out and ran
into Zark. The employee greeted him,“Mr. Green.”
Zark nodded, glancing at Neal. Noticing his youthful appearance and student–like attire, he guessed his identity. But he didn’t say anything. The employee introduced him, “This is Miss Mond’s brother, Neal.”
Neal and Zark hadn’t met, but Neal recognized him. He asked, “You’re Zark?”
Zark nodded.“Hello, Neal.”
Neal smiled. He wanted to say something more, but Zark saw Ashley working nearby. He calmly said, “I’ll go over there.” Without waiting for a response, he walked towards Ashley. Neal was surprised. Wasn’t it said that Chase’s two friends were close to his sister? He felt that Zark seemed rather cold towards him.
Zark didn’t notice what Neal was thinking. He approached Ashley.“Ms. Jones.”
Ashley turned, surprised to see him.“Mr. Green.”
It was the end of the year, and Zark was also busy. They hadn’t seen each other for half a month. A few days after their last conversation, he was secretly called in by some big shot. But he didn’t mention this.“Ms. Jones, will you be attending my company’s party this weekend?”
Ashley said, “Yes.”
Since he’d helped her uncle, Ashley felt she had to pay him back. Plus, their collaboration had been pleasant. He’d also personally sent her an invitation; she had every reason to be there.
Zark smiled.“Thank you.”
“…You’re welcome.”
Seeing she didn’t want to chat, Zark didn’t linger.“Go back to work. Don’t mind me.” Ashley continued talking to George and the others. Zark didn’t leave; he stood nearby, listening and occasionally chiming in.
Zark and Ethan both held Speed shares but weren’t directly involved in operations. They would attend the year–end meeting. That’s why he was there today.
A moment later, Tanya finished her meeting and saw Neal.“You’ve seen the whole company?”
“Yes.”
Ethan arrived and greeted Tanya, then looked at Neal, smiling.“This is your little brother? Handsome. He inherited your family’s good genes.”
Tanya was about to introduce Ethan to Neal, but Neal said, “You must be Ethan.” Ethan raised an eyebrow.“Yes, you have a good eye.”

“Yeah, over there,” Neal pointed towards Ashley.
Ethan and Tanya looked over and saw Zark talking to Ashley gently.
