Chapter73
Ashley was relieved that Tim backed her up. Tim cleared his throat and addressed everyone, “Ashley may not have a PhD, but her skills are exceptional. I promise.” The others exchanged glances. They had heard about Tim’s relationship with Ashley, but didn’t know the details. A similar incident happened last year. A high–ranking executive got his girlfriend into this company. She claimed to be a graduate student at one of the top universities but she didn’t even know basic terms. They doubted if she had attended university. Now, Tim fired a highly qualified talent for Ashley. Andy’s anger was understandable. Many Thought Tim was biased.
Tim asked, “What’s Andy working on?”
Charlie, who worked with Andy, answered his question. Tim told Ashley, “I’ll leave the rest to you.”
Ashley agreed.“Okay.” She said to Charlie, “We are colleagues now.
Everyone smiled politely. They hoped Ashley was not an empty vase. Charlie, who worked with Andy, looked uneasy. He politely said, “The files are here. Tell me if you need help.”
“Thank you.”
