Chapter 10
At a bar near the hospital, Julian kept dialing a number on his phone with growing frustration, but no one
answered.
His friends exchanged nervous glances before one ventured: “What’s going on, Julian? What did you do to piss off Ash? This seems pretty serious.”
Julian massaged his temples. He had no idea what he’d done to offend Ash Harrington.
Yet somehow he’d angered him enough to sever all business ties between their families, throwing away years of friendship.
Unless… was it because of Olivia?
At the engagement party, someone had asked Ash to take Olivia home.
Ash had always despised her – could he be holding a grudge about that?
Taking it out on Julian?
No… that made no sense.
Ash wasn’t that petty.
Olivia wasn’t important enough to affect his friendship with Ash…
Julian’s anxiety deepened. It reminded him of his early days in business, when every door seemed to close in his face. That same feeling of frustration, anxiety, and dread.
Back then, Olivia had been by his side, comforting him, helping him think through problems, finding solutions together.
Unlike Claire, who just kept telling him to put down his phone and drink less.
That’s all she ever said.
Nothing more.
Suddenly… he found himself missing Olivia.
Just then, a message popped up in the group chat.
[Holy shit! Look who I just saw! That’s Olivia, right? But who’s the guy carrying her?!]
Julian opened the photo taken at the hospital entrance.
Olivia was being carried bridal–style by some man. The rainy weather had made it dark, and passing pedestrians blocked most of the man’s figure – impossible to identify him.

But Olivia’s profile was unmistakable.
Julian froze, then let out a bitter laugh as he smashed his glass across the room.
“She’s getting bolder. What, did she find some man just to make me jealous? Doesn’t she worry that when I get my memory back, I’ll find her too… tainted to want anymore?”
His friends exchanged uncomfortable glances, no one daring to speak.
