Julian couldn’t believe what he’d heard on the phone. No, Olivia must have put some child up to this to trick him! She was really going too far with these games.
Julian massaged his temples. When he saw her, he’d have to teach her a lesson. Show her how to behave properly.
This time, he wouldn’t call again. He needed to show her that he could get angry too. That her little games had
consequences.
He urged his friends to drink with him, but no one moved. The strange atmosphere made him laugh uneasily. “What’s wrong with all of you? Why aren’t you drinking? Olivia’s just putting on an act, it’s fine.”
He’d put the call on speaker, not bothering to hide it from his friends. He assumed they were just worried about him.
“Give it an hour tops. When Olivia sees I’m ignoring her, she’ll drop this little act and call me back.”
Julian finished with a smug smile, downing his drink in one go. But his friends continued staring at him with strange expressions.
Until–Someone handed him their phone. “Ash has sent out wedding invitations. He’s getting married… to…”
There on the luxurious, elegantly designed invitation were two names:
[ANNOUNCING THE MARRIAGE OF OLIVIA MONTGOMERY TO ASH HARRINGTON]
Her name placed before his, as tradition dictated for the bride.
