Chapter 16
The wedding celebration ended two hours later. After such an exhausting day, Ash and I were heading home, only to find Julian waiting at our doorstep.
He lunged forward, trying to grab my hand, but Ash kicked him away in one swift motion.
Scrambling to his feet, Julian turned to Ash with wild eyes: “You shameless bastard! Olivia is MY fiancée! What right do you have to steal her?”
His face twisted with rage and pain, as if he’d suffered the ultimate betrayal. “I thought you were my brother, and this is how you repay me?!”
As Julian continued his manic tirade, Ash frowned, about to call security, but I stopped him. I shook my head at Ash, then walked toward Julian..
Hope flickered in Julian’s eyes. “Olivia…”
I slapped him hard across the face. I’d wanted to do that since the day he pushed me at his engagement party.
“Julian, whatever we were ended two years ago. I love Ash now, and if you dare hurt him, you’ll regret it. Apologize
to him. Now.”
My words left him frozen. They should sound familiar – he’d said almost the same thing to me not long ago.
After a moment, Julian frantically responded: “Olivia, I only said those things because of the amnesia! I’ve gotten my memories back, and I’ve already thrown Claire out! She won’t come between us anymore!”
I smiled coldly. “Really?”
“You have to believe me! Now that my memory’s back, I realize you’re the only one I’ve ever loved!”
Julian’s acting skills were impressive. Still keeping up the charade.
Without another word, I pulled out my phone and played the video: “The thought of being married to just Olivia – I can’t handle it. I’ll fake my death, have some fun for a few years. Just keep her from doing anything drastic.”
As the video played, the color drained from Julian’s face. He shook his head desperately: “That’s… that’s fake! It’s been doctored!”
I laughed mirthlessly. “I’m not a child, Julian.”
He stumbled backward, lips trembling. “So… you’ve known for two years…”
As I turned to leave, he grabbed my arm. “Olivia, if you knew then, why didn’t you say anything? We could have worked it out! None of this would have happened!”
His words made me sick. How shameless could one person be?

“Just a few tricks he used to win my heart,” I said, squeezing Ash’s hand as we walked toward our home.
Ash signaled, and security quickly appeared to remove Julian from the premises.
