Chapter 2
Outside the room, I crumpled to the ground, unable to hold myself up any longer. The menstrual cramps were hitting hard and fast, leaving me too weak to even make it to the bathroom.
Then a shadow fell over me.
A familiar voice spoke: “What’s this? Heartbroken and wanting to rekindle old flames?”
I looked up to see Ash Harrington leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, watching me with an unreadable expression. His black outfit and sharp features were half–hidden in the dim light, but I could make out the clean lines of his lips.

Julian sauntered into the store, arm around his date’s waist, and looked Ash up and down: “So this is why you turned down drinks tonight! You’re shopping for some mystery woman! Come on, who are you video calling? Let me see who finally caught the great Ash Harrington’s attention!”
Julian reached for the phone, but I instinctively moved away from the camera.
He never got to grab it though. One cold look from Ash was enough to make him back off.

“Oh hey, Ash – I ran into Olivia tonight. She walked into the wrong room, caught me kissing another girl. Thank god

the guys thought fast and told her I had amnesia. I’ll play with this for a while, then ‘recover‘ my memories.
“And hey, thanks again for suggesting I fake my death back then. Best idea ever gave me the perfect excuse to have
some fun!”
The video shook once, then cut off abruptly.
