Chapter 5
With the crowd and the livestream cameras watching, I spread out the documents for everyone to see.
There were photos of Matthew and Victoria looking cozy together, Intimate messages between them, and records of large money transfers from Matthew to Victoria
I turned to her and said sharply, “You two have been sneaking around behind my back for years. Even that fancy house you live in here? Matthew used my money to buy it for you, didn’t he?”
In my previous life, Matthew had always treated me with care and kindness, while Victoria was my confidante, someone I trusted deeply. They were the two people I had never doubted, the ones I thought I could rely on.
Looking back, though, all those seemingly innocent moments were full of red flags.[]
Every time I’d wanted to be close to Matthew, he’d claim he was too tired from work.
But whenever he saw Victoria, he was full of energy, always looking sharp and chatting away like he had endless stories to tell.
Matthew would go for his “evening walks like clockwork, and Victoria, who had always been quick to respond to my messages, would mysteriously vanish during those same hours.]
Only after Matthew would return home, drained of all energy, would Victoria’s messages finally pop back up.
No wonder, whenever I complained to Victoria about Matthew’s lack of stamina, she would give me that knowing smile without saying a word. The look in her eyes was always so… telling
As I laid out the evidence, the livestream cameras zoomed in on Victoria’s panicked expression. The chat immediately
took a dramatic turn:
“Whoa, did you see her face? She’s totally guilty!”
“This is straight out of a soap opera–her best friend and her husband?!”
“They’re playing the long game! Living in the same neighborhood so they could sneak around. Talk about scandalous!”
“Honestly, that’s kind of wild. Sneaking around by just going out to ‘take out the trash? Unbelievable!“]
The crowd, which had been focused on attacking me, suddenly turned to Matthew and Victoria with suspicious looks.
But Matthew, acting as if nothing could shake him, straightened his back and said with confidence, “Even if that’s true, so
what? You drove me to it.”
You’ve been nothing but a tyrant at home, constantly screaming and abusing me. I just found someone who could bring me a little peace. Is that really so wrong?”
“And no matter what I’ve done, it doesn’t excuse the fact that you beat our daughter until she miscarried and died!“]
Victoria quickly backed him up, adding, “Exactly! You’ve been horrible for years, and instead of taking responsibility. you’re just digging into our private lives to deflect blame.“]
Chapter 5
“If your husband cheated, maybe you should look in the mirror. Do you really think you’re completely innocent here?”
“You killed your own daughter and didn’t even show an ounce of grief. Now you’re just trying to make us look bad to distract from the real issue. How deep does your manipulation run?”
Together, they shifted the blame back onto me, painting themselves as the victims once again.]
The fickle crowd and the livestream audience quickly turned their anger back on me, once again accusing me of being an unft mother.
Their harsh words rained down, blaming me for everything.
In the midst of the chaos, a large group of police officers pushed their way through the crowd.
Matthew, desperate to capitalize on the moment, immediately pointed at me and shouted]
“Officer! She’s the one! She drove our daughter to her death!”
“I have all the evidence and witnesses–please, arrest her right now!”
His urgency and confidence were palpable, as though he believed that with the police now here, I had
