When Felix arrived at the clinic the next morning, Melissa ran up to him. “Felix, Selmer’s been drinking alone in that tavern across the street. Something seems off with him.”
“Is there a tavern that opened this early?” Felix cocked a brow but quickly brushed it off. Anything was possible with enough money. “What’s wrong with him?”
Melissa shook her head, but Nala chuckled. He’s jealous. You should go check on him. People always throw the term ‘big baby‘ around, but I finally get it now.”
“A big baby?” Felix was puzzled.
Nala explained, “Selmer’s been gloomy ever since you introduced Louise to him.”
So that was it. Felix understood now what was up with Selmer.
He immediately headed to the tavern.
He hadn’t let Louise stay at the clinic for two reasons–first, the clinic was too small.
More importantly, Louise was from the Greene family. The family was powerful and dangerous, and Felix still hadn’t fully grasped its reach.
Knowing Aiden’s nature, Felix was certain the family would stop at nothing to eliminate Louise. For now, it was safer for Louise to remain hidden until Felix dealt with the Greene family.
At the tavern, Selmer stood up the moment he saw Felix. “Mr. Zeller.”
Felix studied him and joked, “Louise already achieved True Blood Realm. You, on the other hand, are still far from mastering Blood Realm.”
The remark hit Selmer hard, and his expression turned unpleasant. “Mr. Selmar, it’s my fault for not mastering my skills. I’ve failed to live up to your expectations.”
