Chapter 907
Chapter 907
Felix had never felt so powerless before. The hope in everyone’s eyes was an indescribably heavy mountain weighing on his shoulders.
“You’ve done your best, Felix. So, don’t put the blame on yourself.” Jack smiled. He knew Felix better than everyone else. It wasn’t that Felix didn’t want to save everyone. It was that he couldn’t.
The masked man had risked his life to kill them. Felix would never believe that this wasn’t related to the Martial Arts Competition.
He had never expected to fall victim to this poison, too, not when he was already extremely powerful. From this, it was clear how valuable this poison was. The masked man must have been sure that this could kill all the young martial artists here.
Suddenly, inspiration flashed in his mind. Felix fished out his phone and called Selmer. “Bring the alchemy furnace here as soon as possible!”
Felix had brought with him to Yartford one of the two furnaces he owned for sudden emergencies. Little did he know it would really come in handy.
He called Yasmin after that. “Ms. Qualls, I need these herbs for an emergency. How long do you need to prepare them? I’ll have someone collect them from you. This is a life–and–death situation!”
Yasmin replied immediately, “I’m in Yartford, where Qualls Pharmaceutical’s largest medicinal herb warehouses are, so I can have them ready in an hour.”
“Thank you so much,” Felix said.
One of the pills in the medical book Gerald had given him was an antidote pill. He had no idea if this would work against the poison, but he was out of ideas at this point.
The Windseeker Pill he’d cultivated had miraculous effects. The pill he gave Selmer also enabled him to achieve a breakthrough and reach True Blood Realm. These past experiences made Felix quite hopeful.
The loud whirring of helicopters came from afar. Everyone looked up to see dozens of helicopters coming toward them at breakneck speed, which, again, gave them hope.
Xena wasn’t the only new arrival. Aside from the Shadowdragon Warlord, all the Warlords had come with.
The entourage also consisted of many master healers, all of whom Felix knew, such as Silas, Xander, and Wesley.
“Lemuel will be here in 20 minutes at most,” Xena said.
Felix nodded. Perhaps Lemuel would have a solution to this problem.
“The situation is more serious than I thought,” Xena remarked, looking at everyone sitting cross–legged in the yard.
There were about 60 of them in total, all of them young martial artists with high potential. It wasn’t just that, though. Aiden’s and Ocean’s identities were enough reason for everyone to take this situation seriously.
If all these martial artists ended up dying here today, the entirety of Dragonia would be shaken.
About 15 minutes later, Silas and the other master healers said gravely, “There’s nothing we can do. This is our first time witnessing a poison so lethal. If Felix weren’t her, they would’ve been dead.”
Xander kept on sighing, “Are you also uncertain that you can heal them, Felix?

Felix smiled bitterly. “I can only suppress the poison temporarily but not eradicate it. This poison is terrifying.”
He couldn’t even remove the poison from his own body, much less heal anyone else.
Hector shook his head after he was done with a phone call. Don’t expect that old man to do anything. He said that there’s no antidote to this poison, and no one in this world is capable of making one.
“He discovered the poison in a cave by a cliff, and it’s a very old poison. It probably has been preserved until now since ancient times.”
Everyone wasn’t feeling totally hopeless, but the news dealt a heavy blow nonetheless.
Another helicopter whirred into sight–Lemuel was finally here.

The arrival of the best master healer in the country reignited Aiden’s and everyone else’s hope that they could
survive this.
Due to the magnitude of the situation, Lemuel didn’t reminisce about the past with the other healers present. He picked a random person and started taking his pulse. After one minute, he stood up.

“Can an antidote be made, Mr. Morris?” asked Hector, who felt a headache coming on. If this situation wasn’t dealt with well, devastating consequences were sure to come.
If these people had really died, the headquarters would certainly be blamed, as they were the organizer of the Martial Arts Competition. Who would want to shoulder the blame when the time came?
“This is the Blightbane Poison. I read about it in a medical book once. It was concocted by a highly skilled practitioner of medicine from the last dynasty. According to the book, even the inventor himself has not formulated an antidote for it.”
What? A poison from the previous dynasty?
“And this is why there is nothing I can do,” continued Lemuel.
The yard was filled with a tense silence. Everyone’s voices disappeared.
“How long do they have to live?”
Lemuel looked at Xena, then at Felix.
“Felix and I will take turns suppressing the poison. They have 24 hours at most.”
The waiting staff present were all sobbing. Who would have thought going to work as usual would result in them losing their lives?
“Unfortunately, we cannot locate the Miracle Doctor. He might have a solution,” Lemuel said.
Upon hearing that, Felix gritted his teeth and entered a room not far away. He had thought about that, but he knew for sure that Gerald was not currently in Yartford and thus could not come here on time.
However, now that he’d learned from Lemuel the name of this poison, he could ask Gerald about it.
A call came through soon after. Felix said quickly, “Mr. Hoffman!”
“You damned brat, what time is it? I need my sleep!”
“Something serious happened. Have you heard of the Bligh bane Poison, Mr. Hoffman?”
He didn’t expect Gerald to reply immediately. “I know about it. It was invented by this madman from the last dynasty, and he committed suicide out of shame due to his failure in inventing an antidote.
“30 pills holding the poison were circulated in the public. When the pill is pinched, the poison will seep into the air. It will dissipate completely within a few minutes, but a few minutes are already enough. Those who are in the area will die without a doubt.”
Felix didn’t know how he should react to that. “I’m one of these people now.”
When Gerald was done listening to Felix’s narration of what had happened, he roared, “You idiot! Don’t ever tell anyone you’re my apprentice from now on! The Miracle Doctor’s apprentice dying from poison–what a huge joke!
“There are only two ways to remove the poison, though.“
Oh, Gerald knew how to do it!
Felix was overjoyed. “Tell me, Mr. Hoffman–more than 60 lives are at stake here.”
“The first method is the Nine Points of Calamity Technique”
The Nine Points of Calamity Technique? Felix had some choice curse words in mind. This was a technique even harder than the Seven Points of Transcendence, and he didn’t know how to do it yet. “Can you not give pointless suggestions, please?”
Gerald said exasperatedly, “I want you to learn from this lesson, or else you’d think too highly of your skill in medicine. It’s now when you finally feel helpless, huh?”
Felix admitted readily to his blunders before flattering Gerald a bit more.
“Okay, okay. Didn’t I give you a medical book? If you haven’t slacked off, you should be able to cultivate the most rudimentary antidote pill in the book. That should deal with the Blightbane Poison nicely.
Gerald added, “Your current success rate isn’t high enough for you to make more than 60 pills before the poison takes effect, so save as many people as you can and don’t feel guilty about it, not when you’re already doing your best.”
