“Mrs Sterling went on a business trip.”
The burler was not around when Ashley left two weeks ago. The maids said she left with luggage. It was unusual; she rarely went on business trips, and it had been two weeks.

Even if she couldn’t hug him, she’d greet this cold man excitedly with her eyes shining. But now, she merely glanced at his handsome face, then lowered her eyes, her usual excitement gone. He left without noticing. Watching his back, she wondered when he’d returned. Now that he was back, the divorce should be soon, right? Determined, she focused on
work.
Thirty minutes later, Alex called, “Get two coffees for Mr. Sterling.”
She’d once spent countless hours perfecting her coffee–making skills to impress Chase. Then, Chase completely fell for her coffee so that he wouldn’t have anyone else’s coffee. She’d thought it was a breakthrough, but she’d underestimated his aversion to her. He liked her coffee, but that was it. He remained distant. Usually, he would ask Alex to bring him the coffee. Only when Alex was busy did she get to deliver it herself. This time, Alex told her to get Chase the coffee.
