So, Ashley falling for him wasn’t surprising. But he was cruel to people he didn’t care about. Thinking of Chase’s misunderstanding and his treatment of Ashley, Cindy lost all respect for him. She’d tried to convince Ashley to divorce him, but Ashley refused. She was stunned that Ashley had finally done it.
She lost her appetite.“What happened?
Ashley said, “I’ve just had enough disappointment. I’m tired.”
Cindy knew Ashley was serious. She hugged her.”It’s good you’re leaving him.”
They had breakfast, and Ashley went to work. She met Chase again.
Before she moved, they never went to work together, even though they worked at the same place- because Chase had avoided her. Now they actually met two days in a row, Chase was as handsome and composed as ever, colder than ever towards her. He just glanced at her and looked away. Ashley shortly greeted him and entered the office. She didn’t care about Chase and Tanya anymore. She just focused on work. At noon, Ashley got a call from her grandma, Amanda. “Ashley, someone sent me a whole sheep. It’s getting colder; come home for dinner. I’ll have them make you a feast of sheep.”
Ashley felt warm.“Okay, I’ll be home after work.”
She didn’t see Chase again that day. As she was about to leave, Justin gave her a file and said it was urgent. She read it and then understood it wasn’t urgent. In the past, she would accept it without hesitation because she always wanted to be perfect. But today, she was too tired. She wanted to go home Immediately. She didn’t want to maintain a good relationship with Chase’s assistants anymore, especially after Justin unjustly accused her yesterday.
