Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Ashley read the message, feeling no emotion at all. She had already gotten used to it by now. Whether it’s a busy business day or a gathering of friends, everything seems to take priority. Except for her as a wife. Their plans could always be canceled at his whim, without a second thought for her heeling.
Disappointed? She was.
But now, she had become numb.
Ashley felt lost.
She had come here with great expectations, only to be met with indifference from both her husband and her son. Unknowingly, she found herself driving to the fine dinning restaurant she had often visited with Chase Sterling. When she was about to enter, she saw Chase, Sam and Tanya inside. Tanya Wond was sitting closely next to Sam. She was chatting with Chase while teasing Sam playfully. Sam, Ashley,s boy, was excited, kicking his legs and playing with his Aunt Tanya. He even reached over to taste the dessert she had bitten. And Chase, smiling brightly, served food for them, his gaze fixed entirely on Tanya, as if she were the only one who mattered This was the “emergency” Chase messaged. This was the boy she had carried for ten months, consuming half her life to give birth to. Ashley smiled, full of bitterness. She stood there silently, staring at the scene unfold. She turned her gaze and left after a long time. Back to villa, she drafted a divorce agreement. Chase Sterling had been Ashley’s dream since her youth, but he had never truly seen her. He would never have married her if it weren’t the accident that night and the force from her family. She had believed that she could find the key to his heart if she kept trying.
But reality had slapped her face really hard.
Almost eight years.
It was time for her to face the reality. She put the divorce agreement in an envelope, told Maria to hand it to Chase Sterling. Ashley took her luggage and asked the driver to airport.
