“Good girl. Because you kissed me back, I am not gonna make you drink anymore” he said.
I sighed. I could have not been able to take it anymore anyway,
He smirked. “Because I have some other interesting stuff”
He went out and within a second, he came back.
“You smoke?” he asked.
My face paled.
I… he… he will not make me smoke, right?
“N–No,” I said.
He smirked and took out a cigarette. “Go on,” he said.
I started crying. “No, not this! Please, Robert!” Alex yelled.
“Go on,” he said. “NOW”
“P–Please… I–I can’t…”
“And smoke all of these. One less cigarette, I will shoot Alex the same number of times”
I shook my head and suddenly took one and closing my eyes, I smoked it.
I started choking very badly as I felt my lungs burning up. They felt like… they are on fire.
His laugh echoed in the room.
“Please… don’t, Hailey, don’t!” Alex said.
Ignoring him, I continued smoking. This was the third one. My face has turned completely red, and I am coughing
like crazy.
“Please, don’t!!!” he yelled.
“SHUT UP!!” Robert yelled back.
I took out the fourth one. I took a deep breath.
“Please, Hailey…” I heard Alex.

“What the hell is your problem!?” Robert asked him.
“S–She… She will die, please…” Alex said.
“One less cigarette…” Robert spoke and before he could complete it, I took the fourth one too.
But suddenly, I started choking too much. I was not being able to bear it.
“Hailey?” I heard Robert.
But I never stopped coughing and suddenly spat some blood.
“What the hell is happening!?” I heard Robert.
“Y–You are killing her… P–Please stop…” Alex said.
Suddenly more blood came out as I started taking more deep breaths. I was lacking oxygen.
“Ron, call 911 now!!!” Robert yelled in his earbud as I almost felt like fainting.
He came and suddenly freed me and took me in his arms. “Just breath… breath,” he said, as I tried my best to breathe. I heard faint sounds of an ambulance, and soon I was lying on a white bed and took into the hospital.
Robert’s POV
I didn’t know what was going on.
I couldn’t understand a thing. After they took her to the emergency room, I called Cane to free Alex so that he can
come here.
After he came here, I took a deep breath.
“What’s happening?” I asked him.
“You’re… you’re crazy. She? She is a respiratory patient. Y–You almost killed her. I–I… I just wish she is okay… oh gosh, please” she said.
She is a respiratory patient?
How come I never knew about that?
I waited impatiently in front of the emergency room. Nurses wanted me to wait in the waiting room, but I can’t.
After some hours, a doctor came out. He was looking worried and tensed.
“What… What happened, doc?” I asked.
“She possibly has lung cancer. We are still running the reports. It looks like that it might be old but suddenly provoked. Did she smoke?”
“Y–Yes”

“You should have kept her away from smoke. It is deadly for patients like her” he said and left.
Kept her away?
Do you know what I did?
I stood there hopelessly as Alex came.
“What did he say?” he asked.
“She… She has lung cancer”
He suddenly got hold of my collar. “WHY DID YOU DO THIS!?!” he yelled.
I was guilty.
I was… ashamed.
I–I was feeling very regretful.
He… He told me I was killing her this way.

“I don’t know… save her!!” he yelled and left the area.
I fell down as I realize what I have done.
I can’t lose her.
After many hours of further scans and medications, the doctors came again.
“Her condition is very critical. We don’t think…”

“NO! Save here!” I said.
“We are trying our best,” they said and left.
I sat and kept my hands on my face.
Because I was crying.
Few more hours went by and I just sat in front of her ward.

The doctors came out. “I think… you should see her,” they said.
“Is she okay!?” I asked.
“No,” they said and left.

Alex came running.
“Don’t you dare go inside!” he yelled.
“No! Let me see her!”
“Don’t suffocate her more by your presence, please!!” he yelled.
I looked at the ground, as I realized he was telling the truth. I nodded and he went inside.
After some time, suddenly he called the nurse and the doctor.
I ran inside too.
“Gosh, Doctor, she isn’t getting the oxygen, please fast!!” Alex yelled.
I looked at her as she was breathing heavily.
The nurses were doing their work, and doctors theirs, but nothing seemed to work.
“We… We think her body is not accepting Oxygen” the doc said.
“HELL NO!!” I yelled and going to her, I bent down.
“I will be your oxygen, Hailey,” I said and started oxygen resuscitation.
During CPR, she felt normal after a little while. The nurse brought another oxygen mask and arranged it.
Turns out that the doctor was way too careless.
