Chapter 13
Chapter 13
Charles wasn’t so sure about it. He grinned at Phoebe and said, “Well, I guess I’ll have to ask for your help then.”
The tractor was busted anyway, it wouldn’t hurt to let Phoebe give it a shot. If she could fix it, they’d save some cash instead of buying a new one.
When Charles agreed, Phoebe went over to check out the tractor and soon figured out what was wrong. The police station had some tools, so she got to work fixing it up.
The people watching the live broadcast were all super curious about it.
[Can you believe Phoebe can fix tractors?]
[I seriously doubt it. She’s probably just doing it for attention.]
[Didn’t Charles mention that? Someone tried to fix it before, but it didn’t work, so how could Phoebe do it?]
[Even if she can’t fix it, she’ll say she tried. She’s just trying to look hardworking. I can totally relate.]
[Now that you put it that way, it totally makes sense.]
[This is such a waste of time for everyone.]
[Phoebe is definitely up to something.]
Jamar, Sienna, and Reece’s fans were totally calling out Phoebe in the comments, saying she was being sneaky. They were acting like they were experts at spotting fake people and were convinced Phoebe would be exposed soon.
Phoebe’s fans didn’t know she could fix tractors, but they still had her back. Others started to doubt if she really knew what she was doing or if it was all just a show because of what the three fans were saying.
After twenty minutes, Phoebe put away the tools and told Charles, “It’s fixed.”
Charles was so surprised. “That was fast!” When he tried starting the tractor, it actually worked. He couldn’t believe it and said, “Phoebe, you’re amazing. The person I hired last time couldn’t fix it after a long time. You did it in less than half an hour.”
The three guests were really surprised when Phoebe managed to fix the tractor. She had definitely got some serious skills when it came to repairing tractors.
Lexie was super curious and asked Phoebe, “How did you learn to fix tractors?”
Phoebe just smiled and said, “Oh, I minored in mechanics back in college.”
Lexie was totally taken aback because Phoebe seemed so delicate, and she never would have guessed that Phoebe minored in mechanics. She asked, “So what was your major then? Was it related to this?”
And Phoebe didn’t hold back. She said, “I majored in horoscope and metaphysics.”
It was not a secret at all. Apparently, horoscope was a big deal in their world, and many universities offer specialized majors in this field.
Phoebe hads been learning about horoscope and metaphysics from her teacher since she was a kid, and she really loved it, so she decided to major in it.
When she said this, everyone there was shocked again. No one would’ve thought that Phoebe studied horoscopes and metaphysics. Lexie, with a big smile, asked, “Can you tell fortunes based on the stars and cosmos?”

And Phoebe, with a grin, said, “Sure.”
Then Lexie was like, “Whoa, can you read my stars?”
And Phoebe said, “No problem. I’ll help you with that during the break.”

Lexie didn’t want Phoebe to do it right then. It was kind of inconvenient to talk about this stuff during a live broadcast.
Phoebe fixed the tractor and surprised the audience by studying horoscope metaphysics and minoring in mechanics in college.
I actually been fixed. She’s not just putting on a show. I almost believed what you said just now.]
„[Some fans don’t know anything, and they get slapped in the face really quickly.]
(This girl is amazing. I am also a mechanics major, and I can tell she is very professional.]
(From Phoebe’s suggestion just now to her repairing the tractor now, I found that she is not like the pretty good–for–nothing that people say on the Internet.]
ПI don’t think so either. I feel like she could have made a living with her looks, but now she insists on relying on her strength]
[The above person described it very well. Pheebs now makes a living repairing tractors and doesn’t have to worry about dinner anymore]
[Pheebs is really amazing. She knows so many things.]
Because of this reversal, many viewers had a better impression of Phoebe. Jamar’s and Reece’s fans was slapped in the face. Except for some people with poor quality continuing to criticize, the others kept silent.
After fixing the tractor, Charles was so happy and said, “Since you fixed the tractor, why don’t you all come over for dinner this afternoon?” He had promised Phoebe that if she could get the tractor running, he would treat her to a meal.
Sebastian had mentioned that the performers who came to the village had to find their own food and drinks every day, so they had to work to earn them.
Phoebe discussed it with the others, and then, with a smile, she asked Charles, “We’d love to. Thanks! Can you please make extra serving of each dish while cooking? We have a task ahead that requires…” She explained about the bedding.
Charles happily agreed, “No problem.” He said, “We were about to buy a new tractor, which would cost more. So, you’re a big help. A meal is nothing.”
They had planned to offer a meal to the mechanic anyway if the fixing took too long. So, what Phoebe asked for was really nothing. He also promised to take better care of Phoebe and the others while they were recording the variety show.
After agreeing to go to Charles’s house for dinner in the evening, Phoebe and the other three left the police station.
Maddox grinned at James and said, “Forming a team was a great idea. We effortlessly won today.”
James beamed and responded, “Absolutely. We not only nailed the mission today, but we also scored dinner. I wouldn’t have been able to cook or even get groceries without our team.”
At home, there was a maid who took care of the cooking, so James never really cooked before.
Maddox chuckled, “Same here.
Lexie chimed in. “I’m pretty clumsy in the kitchen too.”

Chapter 13
When she was at home, her parents handled the cooking, but when she was on her own, she either ate out or ordered takeout. She added, “But I can manage instant noodles or fried eggs.”
Then she turned to Phoebe and asked, “Can you cook, Phoebe?”
Phoebe smiled and answered, “Yes, I learned how to cook before.” She lived with her teacher, and they took turns cooking. She also cooked when she was with the Jenkins family. Every time she visited a different place with the elf, she learned and tried new recipes.
Lexie’s eyes lit up. “That’s awesome. Fortunately, they have someone on the team who can cook. Otherwise, it would’ve been tough if they were all kitchen disasters.
James and Maddox were thrilled to hear that Phoebe could cook, feeling lucky that they teamed up with Phoebe.
Lexie asked. “Should we head back to our place to rest or keep looking for work?” When Lexie asked, both James and Maddox turned to Phoebe first.
