Story1–Chapter 1
Theodore Tanner’s childhood sweethearts and I were both pregnant.
For her reputation, Theodore claimed that the child in her belly was his.
And my child became an father–unknown child.
In response to my questioning, Theodore indifferently said, “Skyla was a well–behaved girl since childhood, she couldn’t bear the rumors of getting pregnant before marriage.”
That day, I looked at the man in front of me whom I had loved for seven years, and for the first time,
I knew what it felt like to no longer love him.
Later, my family was ashamed of me and forced me to have an abortion.
He was abroad accompanying Skyla to have a peaceful pregnancy.
When he came back,
I had aborted the child and disappeared from his sight.

In the third month of my pregnancy, Theodore’s childhood sweetheart also became pregnant.
We met at the hospital and I never expected to hear such words.
“Theo, quickly touch our child. I felt like he just moved!”
Theodore’s face glowed softly as Skyla Horne took his hand and placed it on her belly.
The next second, the doctor called my name. Theodore turned around abruptly.
He looked at me in panic and couldn’t say a word.
I walked slowly towards him and slapped him hard a few times.
His cheeks were swollen and red from the beating I gave him, but he still didn’t say a word.
“Theodore, give me an explanation.”
Seeing I beat Theodore, his childhood sweetheart Skyla felt sorry for him.
She pushed me away and spread her arms to protect Theodore.
“It was me who got pregnant with Theo’s child. If you have anything to do, come at me.”
that moment, the guess in my heart came true. I couldn’t help but hold back my tears as they fell. 1
Seeing me cry, Theodore disregarded Skyla’s obstruction and tenderly held me in his arms.

He whispered.
Matilda, stop crying. The child in her belly was not mine.”
Skyla pouted and began to sob, wiping away her tears.
She pitifully stared at the man in front of her, as if he had done something to wrong her.
“Theo, you had promised to be the father of my child. How can you tell her now?”
Theodore wiped my tears while looking at her coldly with disapproval.
“Matilda Kramer is my wife. She has the right to know the truth.”
Skyla immediately stopped crying and revealed a mysterious smile.
“Oh, does she know that the child in her belly is a no–father bastard?”
At that moment, Theodore’s body suddenly trembled incessantly. His face began to turn pale.
Skyla was still proudly boasting.
“Theo did everything for me. He’s afraid of me being criticized by others, so he has to sacrifice his
own biological son.”
“Matilda, from now on, my child will be Theo’s eldest son. It’s not pleasant to call your child a
bastard, so I will have Theo adopt him as his own.”
I stared at the man in front of me, who seemed like a stranger, and struggled like crazy in his arms.
Theodore’s eyes turned red, and he repeatedly apologized to me in a hoarse voice.
I cried for a long, long time before I finally asked,
“Is Skyla really that important?”
Important enough to make our children bear the stigma of being a bastard.
Theodore paused, struggling to speak,
“Skyla was a well–behaved girl since childhood, she couldn’t bear the rumors of getting pregnant before marriage.”
He sat on the ground, exhausted, and held me tightly in his arms, as if saying to me, and also to himself, “Matilda, I won’t let you bear this reputation for too long.”
“We will reveal the child’s identity once Skyla’s matters are resolved.”
‘That day, I looked at the man in front of me whom I had loved for seven years.
The first time I knew what it felt like to not be loving him.
