Story4Chapter

To get back at me for having married someone else, my boyfriend and his childhood sweetheart registered their marriage on the very day I found out I was carrying his baby

When he walked out of the city hall, he was beaming, his eyes full of happiness

I stroke my belly and headed straight to the hospital

While I was having a miscarriage, he was praying that his childhood sweetheart’s baby would be

safe and sound

However, when he saw my flat abdomen later on, he went berserk and screamed at me

Veronica, you nut! Who gave you the right to abort him?”

The wedding date was April 17th

That exact same day I found out I was pregnant

So after getting the medical report with me in the morning, Bronson Crane married Nathalie Knapp

in the afternoon

My fingertips trembled, and the marriage certificate almost slipped out of my hand

In the two years since Bronson and I reunited, we both seemed to let go of that tragic past

But now it seemed that only I’d moved on, and only I was still in love with him

I wiped away my tears and put the marriage certificate back

But my heart couldn’t help but pound, my hand twitching at the same time

I pressed my left hand, but it didn’t help. So I slammed it into the desk, again and again

Stop it, I said stop it, can’t you understand?”

I screamed hysterically, tears streaming down my face

My heart ached, my hand hurt, and my belly hurt too

I bent over, crying as I placed my hand on my twitching belly

Baby, be good. Stop kicking. I’m fine. I’ll protect you.”

I was three months along, and I had been looking forward to the birth of this child

The day I confirmed I was pregnant, Bronson was overjoyed. He took me into his arms, stammering with joy as he spoke

Story4 Chapter

He told me he was the happiest man in the world, for he had a beautiful wife and a lovely child

I cried and thought, How could I have believed him

How could I have believed that he really forgot the past and wanted to start over with me?”

Why are your eyes red? Did you cry again?”

Bronson changed his shoes, walked over, and hugged me

I took a deep breath, trying to suppress the bitterness in my chest. But just then, I smelled a faint perfume

It wasn’t strong, even mixed with the smell of nicotine, but I still smelled it

I was sure that it belonged to Nathalie

So I closed my eyes and pushed Bronson away

He frowned, his tone mixed with coldness. Veronica, what’s the fuss? Or is the baby kicking you

He was a bit helpless, his big hand gently stroking my protruding belly, as if to soothe the child

inside

He appeared just like a doting father, the gentle look in his eyes making me doubt whether the marriage certificate was fake

Bronson, when are we getting married?”

The day I found out I was pregnant, I had brought up the topic, for it wouldn’t look good in the wedding photos when I was beginning to have a baby bump

But Bronson said we could do it after the baby was born

By then, we could take photos with the child

I thought it was meaningful, so I agreed

In these three months, I hadn’t mentioned that again

Today, when I brought up the topic, Bronson avoided my gaze

He sighed helplessly, Didn’t we say to wait until the child is born? Veronica, have you forgotten about it? Is it because you’re pregnant

Bronson Fot

got up, tugging at his tie. I’m going to take a shower. Don’t think too much. We’ll definitely get married.”

He went into the bedroom, leaving his phone on the coffee table

Soon, messages popped up one after another, with Nathalie’s name on them

Storys Chapter

”

My breath hitch as I picked up the phone and unlocked it, scrolling up through those texts

Have you gotten home?”

You know what? As soon as you left, the baby started kicking nonstop

Honey, do you think he was getting upset because his daddy left?”

But don’t worry, I’ll soothe him. I’ll tell him his dad loves him very much.”

My fingertips trembled as I slowly put down the phone

Those messages were like thorns, stabbing into my heart

Honey? Baby

Turned out he had a family already

I was just an outsider
