Chapter 2
Looking at Odin’s fierce gaze, which was as if he was looking at an enemy, my heart was heavily
struck!
Actually, my feelings towards Noel have always been very weak.
From the very beginning, I knew that he married me not out of genuine love, but rather as a way to rebel against Mrs. Delacruz’s control over him.
And I, in order to save my life, willingly became his tool. However, before we had children, the two of us also had a period of mutual respect and relatively warm days.
I also used to think that the two of us would walk hand in hand like an ordinary couple for a lifetime.
But everything changed since I gave birth to my son, Odin.
Mrs. Delacruz took away my child because she felt that I did not educate her grandson well.
She brought Odin back to the old house and even found a wet nurse for him.
I was only allowed to visit him at specific times.
I cried and begged them to give Odin back to me, but all I got in return was their mockery.
I thought Noel would help me, but after hearing my intentions, he just asked me in disbelief, “Do you think you can educate children better than my parents?”
In his eyes, his son should have been raised to become a business prodigy, a working machine.
He never felt that children needed him.
I would never think that as a mother, I also needed my child.
From that day on, the little bit of emotion that had grown inside me for Noel was completely extinguished.
Odin’s indifference and disgust towards me also completely robbed me of the meaning of staying in
this home.
If it weren’t for Alisa, I would have left this cold cage a long time ago.
And now, she has left, and I should leave the Delacruz family too, leave this haunted place full of
monsters.
After making up my mind, I no longer attempted to contact anyone from the Delacruz family.
I went to the funeral parlor and busied myself with Alisa’s funeral.
Alisa’s body could not be pieced together completely.
Chapter 2
Fortunately, this silly person who loves beauty, kept a complete head, made some modifications, and appeared in front of me again, looking beautiful.
I sobbed while hot tears streamed down my face, saying chokedly, “I’m sorry, Alisa. If it weren’t for saving my life, you wouldn’t have married that jerk Ethan…“.
“Damn it… It was me, after all!” That day, Alisa was sent to the crematorium.
I spent money to be able to witness her last moment in this world.
I thought I had already accepted the fact of her death, but when I saw the flames engulfing her body, I was still heartbroken.
The thirty years I spent with Alisa kept replaying in my mind. I remembered her smiling face and the words she said to me when she playfully asked, “Big sister, will you accompany me for a
lifetime?”
In an instant, something completely collapsed in my heart.
I got up and looked at the incinerator, murmuring, “Alisa, sister will accompany you…”
upan
I rushed forward uncontrollably, but was pulled back by the staff.
The staff member was an uncle who couldn’t bear to see me do something foolish. He busily advised, “Young lady, don’t do something foolish. Your friend wouldn’t want to see you like this.”
I came to my senses and slapped myself hard.
Yeah, what was I doing? Alisa’s big revenge is not yet avenged, how can I die?
An hour later, I walked aimlessly in the funeral parlor, holding Alisa’s ashes.
Suddenly, a melodramatic cry reached my ears. I followed the sound and to my surprise, I saw Noel and a few others at the wake next to Alisa’s.
At that moment, Megan was crying sadly, and Ethan was embracing her shoulders, comforting her
softly.
It seems that they believed the news of Alisa’s death, which is really unexpected. Ethan actually had. the audacity to bring Megan along. Is he trying to make Alisa unable to rest in peace?
I angrily rushed over and asked, “Ethan, bringing this despicable woman here, do you still have a conscience?”
As soon as the words fell, I froze.
Because I found out that they were not here to attend Alisa’s funeral at all. They were in the memorial hall, where a photo of a small turtle was being displayed.
Megan was holding a small urn, crying with tears streaming down her face, and I couldn’t help but
feel sorry for her.
Noel said in a deep voice, “Lara, what madness have you gone into again?”
He looked at the urn in my arms, furrowing his brows slightly, and asked in a deep voice, “How did you end up here? And what’s in your hands… is it an urn?”
I sneered, “Otherwise? Is it your mother?”
Noel didn’t expect me to speak to him like this. He widened his eyes and wanted to say something, but Megan said sadly, “Sister–in–law, why are you here? You… are you going to say that Alisa is
dead?”
“No one here will believe you, so you better leave quickly. I don’t want any unrelated people at Turtle’s funeral,” Ethan said immediately.
