Chapter 5 

“What are you talking about!? Lori was clearly staying at home; how dare you curse her like that!” 

Jaidyn scolded, but inside, he became uneasy. 

He hurriedly rushed to the master bedroom upstairs, but found that there was no one in the 

dormitory and Lori’s clothes were also missing. 

There was only one divorce agreement lying conspicuously on the table. 

Jaidyn grabbed the divorce agreement, his face filled with confusion and shock. 

How could Lori, who was perfectly fine, suddenly disappear without a word and want to divorce me? 

“Mr. Weston… Mr. Weston, are you still listening?”

Lorena was stunned by the shouting and watched in disbelief as Jaidyn ran away. 

Jaidyn’s mind was in chaos, and he ran several red lights before finally arriving at the lake the 

assistant had mentioned. 

A large number of search and rescue personnel had already gathered at the scene. 

A crane slowly lifted a black car from the lake, but there was no one inside at that time. 

Jaidyn grabbed the assistant by the collar and said, “Where is she, Lori? And how can you be so sure ⚫ that Lori is the one who got into trouble!” 

The assistant also saw the president in such a panic for the first time, and he quickly said, “I don’t know if the madam has sunk to the bottom of the lake… but according to the order information of this car, it does show that the person picked up was indeed the madam… The driver who successfully escaped… has just confirmed the photo of the madam as well…”

The diver handed the items to Jaidyn, who saw the bracelet he had personally put on Lori on their 

anniversary day, as well as fragments of clothing that Lori had worn. 

Jaidyn held something in his hands, his mind completely blank. 

He mechanically repeated, “Impossible! This is absolutely impossible!” 

“Lori was so resilient, so many difficulties couldn’t bring her down! There’s no way she could have suddenly died like this!” 

He hadn’t figured out why Lori suddenly left without saying goodbye, and why she wanted a divorce 

from him. 

And he would never believe that Lori had died until he saw the body himself, as he believed in the 

saying “seeing is believing“. 

Jaidyn suddenly remembered last night when Lorena kissed him, and in a flash of lightning, he seemed to see someone standing at the door. 

Was it Lori who saw what he and Lorena were doing back then, so she decided to run away…? 

But she probably didn’t know that they were not blood relatives…
