Chapter 4
I was too weak to collapse on the bed.
After a while, I finally got up and silently changed my clothes.
I picked up the luggage I had packed earlier and left the place. I returned to my father’s house.
Every day, I and my stepmother were taking care of my father in the hospital, keeping ourselves
busy without a moment’s rest.
That day, the stepmother had just finished cooking soup and was getting ready to take it to the
hospital.
Seeing me still at my mother’s house for several consecutive days, my stepmother became
unsettled.
She pointed at the luggage that had been placed in the room, her tone not very good.
“There is no man who doesn’t argue with his spouse, and occasionally cheating is normal.”
“That Shelby family was poor, and their eyes were blind. I inquired and found out that they had also
been divorced.”
“Such a person would not affect your status at all.”
What position did I have at Vincent’s place?
I chuckled at myself and took the pigeon soup from my stepmother’s hand, putting it in a thermos and saying to myself.
“Auntie, you can take a rest today. I will take care of Dad.”
My stepmother stared at me for a while, and then, angrily, she said, “You won’t listen no matter what I say.”
“Your father knew that you wanted a divorce and was probably furious.”
“Chelsea, let’s take a step back, even if you really continue with him, will you be able to survive
after the divorce?”
“What do you have to support the Blanchard family now?”
I slowly twisted the thermos, and after twisting it well, I lowered my head and whispered.
“There is always a way, the money from selling the wedding ring would be enough to cover my father’s medical expenses for a year.”
“I planned to sell this house, and I would also go out to work and support my family.”

After saying that, my eyes became moist. This house was left to me by my mother, and I had never moved it before, no matter how difficult it was.
The stepmother was stunned, she didn’t try to persuade anymore, but she always disagreed in her
heart.
I cleaned up the kitchen and then went to the hospital with my stepmother.
After treatment, my father’s condition has generally stabilized.
I also didn’t mention the divorce to my dad.
In the afternoon, the attending physician Triston Crane came to make rounds.
After the inspection, he glanced at me and said, “Let’s go outside and talk.”
I was stunned.
Immediately, I put down what I was holding and softly said, “Dad, I’m going out for a moment.‘
In a moment, we walked to a quiet corridor.
Triston noticed my nervousness and gave me a reassuring smile, then he lowered his head to look
through the medical records.
“Last night, I discussed with several directors from the surgical department about a unanimous proposal.”
“Mr. Blanchard, it is necessary to undergo customized rehabilitation treatment in order to restore to the previous condition.”
“It’s just that the cost was a bit expensive, around 150,000 per month.”
150,000 is an astronomical figure for me now, but I didn’t hesitate and said, “We accepted the treatment.”
Triston closed the medical record and was about to speak when a cold voice sounded from across.
“Chelsea.”
It was Vincent, Vincent was dressed in a business attire, indicating that he had come from the
company.
He walked towards this side, with his small leather shoes stepping on the aisle, making a crisp sound.
Later, Vincent approached them and extended his hand, his voice carrying a hint of laziness and
arrogance.
“Why aren’t you staying at home properly? How come you’re here?”

Care
It is speculated that he may have been with other people for several days in a row, without having
time to go home.
I couldn’t help but feel a wave of boredom in my heart.
I didn’t want to show a stern face in front of others, so I had no choice but to turn around and leave.
Vincent followed me up when he saw me leaving.
We walked towards the ward together, neither of us said a word.
Since I wanted a divorce, I no longer pleased him and tried to please him as carefully as before.
