Chapter 102
Allison smiled, her lips curling up slightly. “I’m going to be yours sooner or later, so what’s the rush?”
Joshua held her hand, his fingers gently tracing little patterns on her palm. “I can’t wait another day. No, not even another second.”
He chuckled. “I was worried you’d think jumping straight into marriage was too sudden, so I suggested to your dad that we get engaged first. We could wait until we were more ready to tie the knot. But now, I think I set myself up with that plan.”
Allison laughed. “So, are we ready now?”
Joshua gave her cheek a playful pinch. “That’s up to you. I’ve been ready for ages.”
Allison looked down with a teasing grin, feeling a bit mischievous. “Maybe we should hold off a little longer.”
Joshua grinned back, playing along. “So, when do you plan on becoming Mrs. Fisher?”
“We’ll see,” Allison replied, tilting her head playfully and pulling a funny face. “Depends on my mood.”
They chatted animatedly as they traveled. The atmosphere was lively and warm.
When they arrived at the Fisher’s estate, Joshua opened the car door and offered his hand to Allison.
She placed her hand in his, stepping out of the car to walk alongside him.
The estate was decked out with balloons and flowers, thousands of fresh pink roses lining the path from the entrance to the grand villa.
Allison, in her high heels, stepped onto the petal–covered path, slowly making her way into the villa’s grand ballroom.
The ballroom was beautifully decorated and filled with a festive vibe as soothing music floated through the air. Guests approached with congratulations and well–wishes.
After greeting the guests, Allison and Joshua headed backstage to go over the engagement ceremony details with the emcee.
The entire Fisher clan was there.
Joshua’s grandfather Ray worked in another city and was rarely seen, but had made the trip back home. He was dressed in a darksuit with a warm, gentle smile on his face, looking lively.
Emily stood beside him in a silk gown adorned with exquisite jewelry, exuding elegance and grace.
Ben and Rose were also dressed to the nines, giving off an air of sophistication.
The Owens family soon arrived as well.
Lizzy said a quick hello to Linda before dashing off to have fun.
The two families gathered, chatting and laughing, and went over the engagement ceremony details once more. As the ceremony was about to begin, Joshua got a phone call.
A distraught woman’s voice came through. “Joshua, can you please not get engaged to Allison?”
The smile vanished from Joshua’s face instantly.
He stepped out of the room to take the call.
“Who is this?”
“Joshua, don’t you remember me? It’s Sue.” The woman sobbed. “Why? Why are you getting engaged to Allison?

Chapter 102
I’ve been after you for ten years. Ten years!”
Sue? Ten years?
Joshua remembered. Sue was a classmate from high school, the prom queen of their year.
He hardened his expression and replied coldly, “Sue, stop calling me. There’s never going to be anything between us
He was about to hang up, but
Sue’s urgent voice stopped him. “Joshua, if you don’t call off the engagement, I’ll end my life.”
The sound of the wind howled through the phone, causing Joshua to frown with irritation.
Sue’s voice came through with the gusts. “I’m standing on the rooftop of the building where your engagement ceremony is happening. If you don’t cancel it, I’ll jump.
The building was ten stories high, a fall would be fatal.
