Chapter 64
Once the two were separated, Allison dashed over to Joshua, eyes brimming with concern. Her voice was shaky with worry, “Joshua, you’re hurt. You need to get to a hospital.”
The moment Joshua saw Allison, the anger in his eyes vanished, replaced by a gentle calmness. “I’m okay?
Not far off, Shawn, held back by officers, watched the scene unfold, feeling his heart shatter into pieces. He looked as pitiful as a stray dog abandoned by its owner. “Allison, who is he?”
Allison’s eyes flared with anger. She spun around to face Shawn, her gaze sharp and cutting.
The raw hatred in her eyes struck Shawn like a blow. The next moment, he heard Allison’s voice, cold and biting.
“Shawn, I don’t ever want to see you again. Please, just vanish from my life forever.” Her words came out like venom, her teeth clenched in fury.
Shawn felt a stabbing pain in his chest, like a knife had been plunged into his heart, leaving him breathless and aching. He was injured too, his face smeared with blood. Yet in her eyes, there wasn’t a hint of pity for him. Her gaze held nothing but coldness and loathing. Was her hatred because he had hurt that man?
In the past, when he got injured racing with friends, she would cry until her eyes were swollen and stay by his side in the hospital. Even when he caught a minor cold, she’d get teary–eyed, personally making sure he took his medicine on time.
But now, despite his serious injuries, she seemed indifferent, her heart and mind consumed by another man. Refusing to give up, Shawn’s voice trembled as he asked again, “Who is he?”
Allison’s lips moved, and she said two words: “My fiancé.”
Shawn’s face was a mix of disbelief and heartbreak. His eyes turned red, tears threatening to fall, his voice shaking, “What… You’re lying, right?”
Paramedics helped the injured Joshua onto the ambulance. Allison turned away from Shawn, following Joshua
into the ambulance.
Shawn tried to go after them, but the paramedics held him back, guiding him into another ambulance.
They both ended up at the same hospital.
Without any private VIP rooms available, Shawn and Joshua were placed in the same hospital room.
Shawn lay on the bed closest to the door. When Allison entered the room, the first thing she noticed was Shawn, wrapped up like a mummy, lying there with an IV drip.
Without sparing him a glance, she headed straight to Joshua’s bed, sitting down to check on his injuries, tenderly offering him water.
In the same room, Shawn might as well have been invisible to her. He turned his head, eyes fixed on Allison, watching her silently with an air of despair.
Allison seemed oblivious, engrossed in conversation with Joshua. She didn’t give Shawn a single look. Shawn called out her name several times, but she acted as if she hadn’t heard.
The police came by for routine questions about the incident. After both sides explained what happened, they agreed to settle things privately, and the police left after filing a report.
Shortly after, Joshua’s assistant, John, rushed in with bodyguards, visibly shaken. “Mr. Fisher, what happened?” John’s forehead was beaded with sweat, his face pale from shock.
It hadn’t even been two hours since he last saw him, and now Mr. Fisher was hurt like this? If Mr. Fisher’s mother and grandmother found out, he’d be in serious trouble.
Joshua’s expression was serious. “It’s nothing. Don’t mention today’s incident to anyone, especially my family.
