“You’re coming with me?”
Kaylee was surprised that her parents planned to accompany her abroad.
Robert nodded. “Yes. Most of our work can be handled online, and anything that requires
to be there in person can be managed with monthly trips back to handle things collectively.”
With their expansive business empire, Robert didn’t need to personally oversee much
anymore.
And if necessary, there was always Arthur to manage things.
Having finally reunited with their daughter, Robert and Margot wanted to spend as much time with her as possible
Arthur chimed in as well. “Exactly. This way, our family won’t be separated, and you can completely and Vincer’s harassment once you’re abroad”
Though their fandy was infurstial, they preferred to avoid unnecessary conflicts
Their business philosophy emphasized harmony over confrontation, and unless absolutely necessary, they dad want to escalate things with the Garria famdy
Vincent, being Kaylee’s ex boyfriend was a sensitive topic. Making a big scene wouldn’t be adeal for anyone involved
Kaylee had care considered furthering her studies abroad, but the sudden loss of her adoptive parents and Vincent’s betrayal had put those plans on hold
Now that her parents were suggesting it, she had no reason to refuse
“Alright, let’s go abroad together”
The decision for Kaylee to study abroad was finalized, and she began perparing for the

She also sent a message to Steven to explain her situation:
“Steven, to avoid causing any further trouble for the company because of me and Vincent, I won’t be coming to work tomorrow. I’ve decided to go abroad for my studies. Thank you for looking out for me recently and sorry for any inconvenience I’ve caused.”
Steven’s reply came quickly:
“No problem. Stay safe.”
For the next half–month, Kaylee stayed inside the villa, avoiding any unnecessary outings while waiting for her paperwork to be processed.
Meanwhile, Vincent continued to obsess over her whereabouts.
But Kaylee didn’t give him a single chance to see her. Each time he brought gifts to the villa, he was turned away by the staff, who always offered the same polite excuse:
“Apologies, sir, but Miss Kaylee is not home at the moment.”
Even though she hadn’t left the villa, Vincent knew he couldn’t barge in uninvited.
The day before her departure, Kaylee went shopping at the mall, accompanied by two bodyguards.
Vincent seized the opportunity to approach her, his face filled with hurt.
“Kaylee, why have you been avoiding me lately?”
Kaylee set down the clothes she was holding and turned to leave, but Vincent blocked her
path.
She glanced at him briefly before signaling her bodyguards to intervene. But after a
moment of thought, she decided to face him directly.
This would likely be their last meeting, so she might as well address everything and end it
decisively.
Taking a seat on a nearby sofa in the mall, she gestured for Vincent to sit.

He sounded sincere, as if he genuinely understood his faults.
Kaylee suddenly asked, “Do you remember the half–month before I left, when I called you
dozens of times?”
Vincent froze, his expression faltering “I… I was traveling with Alina at the time.*
His voice weakened, and he couldn’t meet her gaze.
Kaylee didn’t give him a chance to deflect, her tone sharp and deliberate.
“Then you must know–during those days, my adoptive parents were in a car accident and admitted to the ICU. I called you forty–three times, all the way until their funeral
