Hidden Flame 101

Hidden Flame 101

**Draven**
I think we managed to avoid the worst, but not without a price. Avery took in a good amount of darkness as did Cassius.
It could shift things as powers emerge. I know how tempting the power of darkness is. Its seductive nature becomes
addicting as you chase that high again and again. Now that I am free from the dark stranglehold that Blackbriar once had
over me, I want to keep my new family from ever experiencing it. I will stay close to all of them, including Trisha now.
Tim hid the fact that he was a dragon. Unlike Avery, he purposely kept his hidden. Why? He had to have known that the
Draco triplets were dragons and that they would only consort with other dragons. Did he think that they would breach
the treaty and claim a human? If that is his reasoning, then I fear that Talos has been compromised too.
**Avery**
It has now been a few months since prom. Noone misses the Hags and the few others that met their ends. We have all
fallen into a normal routine too. Draven no longer needs to pretend to be someone else. We formally announced him as
new staff at the palace. My mates want to hire more kitchen staff too because they think I cook too much, but I love it so
I keep telling them not to add any.
Since I now have a huge family, I want us to have a big dinner for Thanksgiving. My adopted parents will be coming too. I
am so excited and have been cooking for days now too. I want it to be as close to perfection as it can be! I remember a
quote from Henery Ward Beecher that said, “Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” This meal is
how I plan to show my gratitude to those that I love.
I have my timers set so I decide to have some tea and sit down at the kitchen island. I must have dozed off because I was
pulled into a dream…
**Dream**
I am humming as I cook in the kitchen. It has all of the elements of a Thanksgiving meal. I have always wanted a family
and now I have a great one, but something is still missing. I wish that I knew what, but I must have faith that all will be
revealed in due time.
“Little mate, we should have let the kitchen staff do this,” Cassius said, as he turned to me, covered in flour.
I laughed. “You look like the abominable snowman.”
He roared, “I am a beast, alright,” as he grabbed me and kissed me passionately.
I smacked him on his shoulder, “Careful or you will squish our baby.”
He kissed me again before he sat me down and placed his hands on my belly. “Avery, nothing will ever hurt him.”
“Him?” I had thought that our baby might be a girl, because for some reason I couldn’t discern the gender. Even my
visions have failed me lately.
Cassius nods, “Just a gut feeling, but we will know soon.” He is right, because we will. The rest of The Trio made their way
into the kitchen and teased Cassius before they each kissed my belly and me. Their babies also reside in my womb. Even
though I am not very far along, I already resemble a beached whale.
We all worked together and made a huge Thanksgiving dinner. As we were about to say what we were thankful for, I was
pulled into a vision. I saw that beautiful island that I had dreamt about before. However, this time there were people who
I didn’t know waving at me. One had eyes shaped like mine but were the bluest blue and he stood beside a handsome
older man that had these piercing green eyes. I felt myself being pulled closer and I froze when his eyes flashed silver.
The guy whose eyes were like mine said, “Avery, there is no room for fear. We all love you. Come home. Come home to
Altima.”
When I came out of my vision, my mates were stroking my hair and kissing me. I smiled. “Guys, I am alright. Our family
awaits us on Altima.” I looked up at the ceiling. “Thank you, Mom and Dad, and thank you, Goddess. I am thankful for
you, my mates, and the rest of my family. Happy Thanksgiving, I love you all.”

**End Dream**
I woke up to my mates kissing me. “You must have just had an amazing dream,” Conner says.
Clint chuckles, “It was slightly arousing too,” as his fingers brush against my erect nipples.
I blushed before I looked them all in the eyes. “I think it was not just a dream but part of a vision too.” Then I proceeded
to tell them about my vision. Cassius used his phone to pull up an image of James Balans, The King Of Kings. I gasped
when I saw those green eyes from my dream staring back at me as if they could see right through me. I felt that pull and
leaned forward. “He is the guy beside the blue-eyed man. He is also the dragon that marked me when I was a little girl.”
Cassius nods, “We will have that meeting soon enough and he owes all of us some answers. If for some reason he is your mate too, we will support you. Let’s enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner and then we can start making our eggs.”
My cheeks reddened as I bit my lip. I gave each of them a quick kiss as my timers started going off. “Wash your hands
and get your aprons on and come help me,” I said as I looked over my shoulder and sauntered to the ovens. They
laughed as they helped me finish making our dinner before we got changed and our guests arrived. I kept thinking back
to my dream. Will I be with eggs by this time next year or could I already be? Or perhaps, that was just a dream and the
only real parts of it were the blue-eyed man and James as well as Altima? Cassius is right because we are definitely owed
some answers and soon we will get them!
