Hidden Flame 74

**Draven**
Since coming to Naga I have been having these strange sensations as if I were going to have a premonition, but none
came. This feeling is only growing stronger and there must be a reason why their dragons are becoming so agitated. I
have noticed a change in The Trio and in Avery, but not any of the other dragons at the school, including those who have
recently found mates. Cassius is right. We all need to talk.
“I know a bit about dragons, maybe not as much as you all, but what has been happening isn’t normal. I venture a guess
that it was not the norm for even the Goddess herself. Besides your dragons being overly protective or more impulsive
than before, have any of you noticed anything else?”
“I felt as if we were being watched when we went to the grocery store,” Cassius says. “And I don’t like it,” he adds.
Avery looks at me, “I have dreamed of where we needed to go, but I have no idea how to get there. However, I know that
the answers to all that has been hidden lie on an island called Altima.”
I wrack my brain. I sighed, “I have never read anything about such an island. I am sorry. Maybe if you could give me any
idea about what realm it could exist in or even which ocean, then maybe I could scan folklore tomes and find
something.”
“It is beautiful and has those jasmine and blue butterfly plants everywhere. I have never seen a lot of buildings, only
nature and I felt so much peace. This might sound strange, but I think it was my home. Regina feels it too. I just wish I
knew why I see it but can’t go there,” she says.
“Maybe everything is linked. You discovered your dragon and being The Mother, you freed me and Blackbriar, and you
have multiple mates. I know that the Hags are plotting something, but they mask their thoughts. I will look for an
enchanted jewelry item next time I am around them. Cassius, can you tell me anything about the sensations you have
been feeling apart from anyhing linked to the mating bond?”
He looks at all of us, “Draven, I didn’t like you at first because I didn’t like your connection to Avery. I don’t feel that
towards you anymore, but do towards this odd feeling. Whatever or whoever is watching us possesses powers and they want Avery for something as I felt the gazes more the closer to her I stood.”
“Some type of watcher. Usually, they will not act unless necessary to keep us on our fated paths. I have never felt them,
but I know of others who have. Something is about to happen in Naga and it likely involves you and Avery the most. It is
why you can sense them. They want you to pay attention.”

Avery sighs, “But to what? The only visions I have had lately were of that island called Altima and you all know what little
they were now. I only felt peace not this ominous feeling like we are having now.”
“I know that this will sound dumb, but you all need to stay focused on strengthening your mating bond. This other stuff
will reveal itself and then we can sort it out.”
Avery does something that I didn’t expect. She sits on my lap and hugs me. “I love you and sparring your life and freeing
Blackbriar was one of my best rash decisions.”
I laughed. “I love you too, like that annoying little sister that I never had.” I meant it too. Avery has become like a sister to me and I will do everything that I can to help keep her safe. I just wish that I had more than that strange feeling to go off
of.

**Avery**
I do love Draven, but it isn’t the same type of love that I have for Cassius, Clint, and Conner. Coincidentally, a lot of what Draven just said makes sense. Maybe I am not supposed to know what is coming, because, if I did, I might react
differently. Also, I think he is supposed to come to Altima with us. I just had hoped that he knew something about it or
even had a vision of it.
I know that I freed him, but I think something is still hidden. He’s meant to have a dragon or else that one wouldn’t have
been so tempted. He inadvertently summoned me for a reason and I think that is to get him to Altima and find his
dragon. I looked at my mates while I was sitting on Draven’s lap. There’s no jealousy or animosity…only acceptance. Draven is one of us and they see it too. But how? Just what secrets did our parents keep from us?
I removed myself from Draven’s lap and took my seat between The Trio. Our dragons are resting now so we have full
control over our emotions. I looked at the men in this room, “We are eternal, maybe not our bodies, but our souls. I only
wish that we could unlock the past. There is so much that we don’t know and I feel that we need to. I think this adds to
the odd feeling we are all experiencing. We need to take each day as it comes and we do it together!”
My mates kissed me but Draven paled. I looked at him. “Death is coming,” he said in an alien voice. Death? What death?
The only people I think should die are the Hoity Hags and anyone knowingly aiding them. Are their deaths near? But
how? And who or what just possessed Draven?
