With tears in her eyes, she glared at Lucas and shouted, “You scoundrel! How could you treat me like this? Just wait. I won’t let you get away with it!”
After throwing out that threat, she marched determinedly toward the door, cager to get away as quickly as possible.
Hearing her empty threat, Lucas chuckled and rubbed his nose.
That little brat–what could she do to me? So childish.
In reality, Lucas was only 24, not much older than Marisol.
However, his extensive life experiences made him view her more like a child than a peer.

When he untied her just now, he was being unruly on purpose. He didn’t have any romantic feelings for her, he just wanted to piss her off.
Suddenly, after taking a few steps, Marisol came to a halt.
“Why aren’t you leaving? Go home and tell your parents,” Lucas teased.
“I–I’m scared! You have to take me out of the village!”
-As she spoke, Marisol moved closer to the two corpses, her face betraying her fear.
Looking outside at the pitch–black darkness, she suddenly felt too frightened to walk alone.
“Why should I take you out of the village? You just said you wouldn’t let me off the hook,” Lucas asked, amusement in his voice..
“You have to take me! Or else-
“Or else what?”
“Or else I’ll report you for murder! Hmph!”
Marisol’s eyes lit up as if she had just grasped a crucial point, and she said defiantly.
Upon hearing Marisol’s threat, Lucas paused, his face twitching slightly.
What the hell have I gotten myself into by saving this girl?
He couldn’t care less about her intimidation; after all, he’d lost count of the people he’d killed, especially since they were just two human traffickers.
Still, despite his dismissive attitude, being threatened by this girl irked him.
“Hey, have you ever heard the story of the farmer and the snake?” Lucas asked, his tone serious.
“Hmph, you don’t have to be so sarcastic. I’ll just consider myself the snake o

bullying me earlier!”

Deep down, she felt a thrill of excitement as she realized she might have found a way to get back at this jerk
Being forced to call him daddy was infuriating, and she was determined to get her revenge.
Of course, if she mentioned it to her father, with the power of the Luxes behind her, taking revenge on this scoundrel would be even easier.
Though Marisol acted spoiled and headstrong, she wasn’t malicious, she wouldn’t repay kindness with betrayal.
Instead of using her family’s influence to harm the man who had saved her, she planned to take her own approach to get back at him.
“I only killed those two to save you. That’s self–defense, so reporting me won’t do any good.”
Seeing her stubborn demeanor intrigued Lucas, and he decided to engage with her further.
Just because you say it was self–defense doesn’t make it so! There are only two of us here. If I report you for murder, how can you prove it was self–defense?” Marisol said, shaking her little fist defiantly.
Lucas smirked, feeling a surge of irritation but also amusement.
In the next moment, watching her try to act tough, he found it more entertaining than infuriating, and his anger began to dissipate.
See, being pretty really gives you an advantage.
If it were some rough old guy threatening him like this, he would have smacked him in the face
“Why are you being so unreasonable? Repaying kindness with malice?”
Looking at Marisol’s beautiful face, adorned with a smug expression, he decided to play along with h He had decided to embrace a laid–back life, so he might as well find some enjoyment along the war. Teasing a little beauty like her didn’t seem so bad after all.
With that thought, Lucas feigned anger and concern, raising his voice.
Seeing his reaction only made Marisol more pleased with herself. “Hmph! You’re such an idion for trying to reason with a girl! Now you see the consequences of bullying me, huh? I have plenty of ways to make your life difficult. I order you to take me out of here!‘ she said, her hands on her hips.
As she spoke, Marisol suddenly remembered something and pointed at the two corpses on the ground “Oh, and you’d better deal with those two quickly. Or, you won’t need me to report you, you’ll be in trouble
sooner or later.”
Hearing this, Lucas couldn’t help but chuckle to himself, amused by her words.
This girl talks tough, but it seems she’s not entirely heartless. She’s just looking out for me.
