“That won’t be necessary. Just handle this matter for me. Fine, I’ll pass the phone to Millie now so you can explain it to her.” Lucas said, extending his phone to Millic.
At that moment, Millie was in a daze. Was this man really talking to Mr. Tucker himself? How dare he address Mr. Tucker with such a commanding tone? And he claimed that Celine was his sweetheart? Wasn’t he just a driver?
Taking the phone from Lucas with a shaky hand, Millic glanced at the number on the screen. It really was Nelson.
“Mr. Tucker?” Millie asked tentatively.
Her stunning face cycled through a range of expressions, her beautiful eyes darting back to Lucas in shock several times.
“Yes, I understand. I will.”
Millie’s responses were hurried and deferential.
“Millie, I’ve always treated you well. Make sure you handle this properly and keep Mr. Campbell happy! Don’t make him hold a grudge against me!” Nelson’s voice was a mix of worry and fear.
“I know what to do. Don’t worry.” Millie couldn’t help sneaking another glance at Lucas before finally hanging up.
“Mr. Campbell, I’m truly sorry for my earlier behavior. I failed to recognize your importance. Please forgive me,” she said, forcing a charming smile onto her face as she spoke to Lucas sweetly.
“Do you understand what to do now?” Lucas asked, his face impassive.
“Yes.” Millie’s voice was soft, compliant like a kitten.
“Good. I’ll go get Celine so you can finalize the endorsement deal. Oh, and take care of this,” Lucas said, pointing at the two bodyguards with broken legs on the floor. He turned to leave.
“Wait! Mr. Campbell, hold on!” Millie suddenly called out urgently.
The next moment, the famous, stunning actress, with a touch of bashfulness, spoke tenderly, “Don’t rush to bring Ms. Xavier up just yet. Allow me to make it up to you first, Mr. Campbell. To apologize for my earlier rudeness.”
…
“Hmm ? What do you mean?” Lucas’s eyebrow arched as he looked at Millie, who now wore a demure, inviting expression.
Millie gave a coy smile and moved closer to Lucas, her soft, alluring body brushing against his. “Why pretend not to understand, Mr. Campbell? This room isn’t very private. How about we go somewhere more secluded where I can properly make amends to you? How does that sound?”
Nelson had instructed her to ensure Lucas’s satisfaction. Besides, Millie saw this as an opportunity. If she could form a connection with a man powerful enough to scare her influential benefactor…
And she was confident in her allure. She believed no man could resist her charms.

Indeed, Millic–already a vision of seductive beauty–now blushed and cast flirtatious glances that would make many men weak at the knees.
However, Lucas reacted with a derisive laugh. A laugh filled with disdain and scorn.
“I do have a good appetite, but I don’t eat anything that comes my way. I’m not interested in spoiled goods!” Lucas said, stepping back and waving his hand dismissively.
Millie froze, her seductive smile turning rigid. She had been rejected. By a man. And he compared her to spoiled goods?
In disbelief, she saw the look of distaste in his eyes.
Yes, distaste! She thought bitterly.
Lucas continued, “Handle this situation, and I’ll bring Celine up. Tell Nelson to stop with the tricks and just do what needs to be done. And remember, say nothing stupid in front of Celine.
With that, Lucas left the room.
“Yes, Mr. Campbell. I understand,” Millie replied, managing to keep her voice respectful despite her feelings.
As soon as Lucas left, a dark look of resentment clouded Millie’s beautiful face.
“Lucas, I’ll remember the humiliation you’ve given me today!”
