Chapter 60

“There’s a storm of paparazzi butside the hospital demanding to know what happened to Eva. They got a whiff of the news that she was involved in an accident.” Steven informed us and played the video of the rowdy reporters camping outside a health facility.
What length wouldn’t these crazy paparazzi go to just to get a scoop for their front page, all in the name of making money?
How low can they stoop?)
“This is crazy,” I commented and tried to keep calm because Charlie was in the room with us.
“How can they not care about the fact that hospitals are for sick people? They deserve respect and privacy.” I said and shook my head. feeling irritated and a bit agitated.
“That’s how heartless they can be, Damien replied “But how did they get the whiff that Eva is at that hospital? This whole thing just keeps getting crazier.” He asked Steven.
“What’s crazy, mummy?” Charlie asked with a mouth full of food.
“It’s nothing, baby.” I said to him, “Keep enjoying your breakfast
“Okay, mummy” He replied and took a sip of his banana milk.
“We should take this outside. Damien, please stay with Charlie. Steven and I stepped aside after I said that, I didn’t want to worry my son, because once he notices my sour expression, he may start questioning it.
Once we got away from the bedroom, I couldn’t help but pour out the only question that was bugging my mind.
“Why do I think this is all Eva’s doing to get my attention?” I asked Steven.
“You may be right.” Steven nodded. “What do you want to do about this? The hospital won’t stop calling our hotline demanding we deal with this mess as soon as possible for the sake of the patients.” Steven explained to me and I could only sigh, knowing that confrontation was the only solution I have at hand now.
And I’m so pissed that I know if I don’t straighten things out now, I wouldn’t have the peace of mind I badly wanted.
“I’m going to go to the hospital. I’m going to face her. These shenanigans had to stop for good.” I replied to Steven and he nodded.
“I’m coming with you.” I heard Damien say from behind me with Charlie in one arm and the tray in the other hand.
And for the next few moments, 1 freshened up and dressed up. Damien also did the same. Delores will watch over Charlie while Steven, Damien and I will go to the hospital together.
Damien was also furious as if he could tell exactly what my thoughts were. If this was a game Eva thinks she can play even after having an encounter with death, then she is so wrong. She is so wrong to think I will sit back and allow all of these to keep happening without putting a stop to it.
I may not be so fine mental–wise, but that doesn’t change the fact that I have grown up and I am no longer the Irene that dances to her tunes like years ago. No, I have changed and that change is here to stay.
If it’s my wrath the seeks, it is exactly my wrath that she will find.
“Are you guys ready?” Delores asked as he saw me and Damien walking down the stairs.
“Yes.” I answered. “His insulin shots are all around the house, don’t forget.” I reminded her not because she is not capable of taking care of him, but because I’m just not wanting to risk any chance of danger..

honey. Make her know who the boss is.” Delores said and I gave her a small smile before we all filed out of the Just giving Charlie a kiss
the drive to the hospital was torturously slow. I could count each second that was ticking in my head. And it was only gining the angrier.

hosildn’t wait until I arrived in her private room, and we did. It felt like it was taking forever, but it wasn’t. I was just
