Irene’s POV:
I raised my legs backward and hit George between his legs. The balls he thinks he has were almost crushed by my forceful kick. The moment he fell to the floor, groaning loudly like a kid and cupping his crotch, I redirected my focus back on Eva. and the fear I saw dancing in her eyes made my lips curl up into a sweet smirk.
“There’s no one to protect you now. You always seemed to hide behind the shield others put up for you.” I said to her, slowly walking towards her as she dwindled in the uncertainties of what I could do next to her. She began taking careful steps backward but just like I expected, her mouth was still as sharp asă razor.
Cowards like her rely on their words as weapons, they have no other power, except for manipulation and insults.
“You can’t tell Lenora any of this. There’s so much at stake for you.” She said in a warning tone, but it was shaky and had no boldness in it.
“And what if I do? What will you do about that?” I asked, smiling with a wicked glint in my eyes.
“I–1” She stuttered, her eyes trying to search for an escape.
“Answer me!” I shouted and she jolted where she was standing, causing me to laugh. “You can’t seem to find your words, right?” I asked, “but I’m in no rush,” I said to her knowing I could always go to Charlie’s school tomorrow and talk to the headmaster so he could give me a rundown on what happened at the meeting

“I couldn’t give up so easily after you escaped from my boys. So I had to think of a better idea. Something that would really work and you won’t ever suspect. She began, I glanced at George and he was still crouched on the floor. I must have hit him so hard for him to be feeling the pain to that extent.
And I couldn’t give a flying damn about his pain. He deserved it for his previous action and what he did today. Lenora deserves so much better than any of this charade she calls a man.
“So I came up with a fake car accident and saved your number as the only emergency number anyone could call for such a situation.” Eva continued narrating her evil deeds, and I did my best to keep an eye on both her and George.
“The accident was not real. The hospital was bribed. They were in on everything that happened. We had to make it believable. We had to cause trouble so I could keep getting your attention until I’m able to penetrate the wall you’ve put up against me. I had to get all emotional to the point that I knew how much you hated suicide, so I had to attempt it for real, knowing you were almost at the hospital. It was all an act. And you bought it like the stupid dumb bitch that you are.” She snarled at me, grinning like someone who is high off weed.
Her eyes held so much hatred for me and that fact she was able to hide this hatred for all these weeks made a light fear creep up my chest.
“You are the biggest fool of the year. You brought me to your home because all I had to do was pretend to be a good person. Someone who desperately wanted your forgiveness and someone who couldn’t walk. And you were easily swayed, if that doesn’t mean you are a fool then I don’t know what else to call you.” She said, cackling in an annoying tone that made me feel the urge to choke her by the neck.
But she was right, Deep down, I knew that I was a big fool and that was why everything hurt even more. That was why the rage flaring in mne was almost consuming, I could feel my self–control teetering on the edge, ready to fall off the cliff so the inner monster in me could take over my being so I could just strangle this woman to death.
Fuck. She was getting under my skin so much.

Oh, I’m such a genius, you must have been thinking all of that.” I said to her, my hands caressing her face until it reached her neck and gripped it tightly.
