“What’s up? Why don’t you send her to the hospital since it’s serious?” Godwin drove quickly and rushed there as soon as Elvis called him. When he stepped into the room with a medicine cabinet, he saw a red–eyed woman lying on the bed.
He was stunned, and then he instantly knew who the woman was.
“Nola has a high fever. I just took her temperature. 102.2 degrees. Come and see what’s going on!”
Nola didn’t expect him to call a doctor here for her.

“Elvis, she is…” Godwin instantly understood it, and then he walked to Nola with a beam on his face. He introduced himself, “Hello! I’m Godwin Burke, Elvis‘ buddy.”
Nola looked him up and down. She found that Godwin looked lively and polite with two dimples on his handsome face when smiling. He was like a breath of fresh air.
“Hello, I’m Nola Grant.”
“I heard that Elvis got the marriage license with a girl secretly, and we don’t believe it! He hides you here and doesn’t take you to see us. What’s wrong with your eyes, Nola? They’re red. Does he treat you badly?”
Elvis coughed and his face turned cold, “I ask you here for something not to gossip about me. Don’t piss me off!”
Godwin raised his hands to surrender, “Ok, I’ll do it now.”
Godwin sighed. He was a well–known surgeon overseas but he drove here just for a cold. Most importantly, he wasn’t paid any. Why couldn’t he earn some interest by gossip?
Elvis was too mean!
But Elvis cared so much about the woman. It seemed that he and Spencer were right. Elvis fell in love with her.
After a careful examination, Godwin cleaned up the wound on Nola’s hand. He then said, “Elvis, I don’t mean to blame you, but you should have been tender to Nola since she was weak. How did you hurt her so badly? Why didn’t you clean up the wound for her? It will be troublesome if it’s inflamed.”
There was a disapproving look on Elvis‘ face, Godwin was complaining.
Nola coughed and explained, “You misunderstood! I hurt myself and there’s nothing to do with Mr. Grayson.”
“Nola, don’t try to defend him! He doesn’t know to cherish you. It’s quite hard to have a wife as pretty and tender as you. He just takes it for granted, so he doesn’t take good care of you. Isn’t it his fault?”
Nola was stunned. She felt what Godwin said made sense. She then looked at Elvis and wondered why they were buddies since they had different personalities.
“Godwin, is your life too smooth overseas during these two months, isn’t it?”
“Elvis, pay attention to your behaviors since Nola is here. Haha! Girls are all fond of tender men like me.”
Nola burst into laughter. She agreed and nodded, “Yes, tender men.”
“What’s wrong with her?”
“She has a cold. Be careful with her wound. Take the medicine and have a good rest. She’ll feel better soon.”
“Okay, get out of here.”

“Elvis!” Godwin looked at him in astonishment, “How can you treat me in this way? Kick me out of here as soon as I finish it. I drove here immediately after you called me. You should ask me to stay and have dinner anyhow. Besides, it’s the first time I’ve seen Nola. I intended to know more about her!”
Nola held her laughter back. She found Godwin was quite interesting.
“We don’t prepare it for you. Get out of here and cat it in your place.”
“Ah! Elvis, am I your buddy? Don’t you feel heartbroken to treat me so badly? You’re such a cold–hearted man. Nola, be careful, does it worth marrying him? It’s not too late if you regret it.”
“Godwin Burke!” Elvis clenched his fists and looked at him.
Godwin knew Elvis was mad at him. He instantly ran away.
“Nola, I’m leaving, and I’ll talk with you when you recover.” He was happy to make a joke with Elvis. How could he miss the chance since it was rare to see Elvis suffer losses?
After leaving the Breeze Garden, Godwin laughed and shared it with his friends immediately. It would be happier if he shared the good news with others. It was better to enjoy with others than enjoy alone.
Nola looked at Elvis with a smile. She thought Elvis was always alone, but unexpectedly he had his friends. Moreover, it was obvious that they were getting along with each other.
“Godwin, one of my friends. We almost grew up together and got along with each other. Our families have known each other for generations. I’ll take you to see them when they come back. You’ll know them then.”
“Are you going to take me to see your friends?”
“I should let you go into my world, shouldn’t I?” Elvis asked her, and it provoked ripples in her mind.
Did it mean something?
“Honey, take a rest. I’ll ask Alisa to cook some light food for you. Lie here.”
When he was about to stand up, Nola held his hand. She didn’t want to guess what he was thinking about and misunderstood him. So she decided to make it clear.
“So, what do you mean? You’ve confessed? Accepted me? Or…”
“What about you? Who am I for you?”
Nola didn’t answer him. She then clenched her fist and took a deep breath. She was thinking, “Alright, I’ll tell him the truth.”
“Mr. Grayson, I must confess that I can’t control it and I, maybe, fall in love with you.”
“Maybe?” Elvis frowned. His lips pursed when seeing she had no idea to answer him.
“Why don’t we have a try? I’m not sure when I also perhaps fell in love with the naughty kitty named Nola.”
Nola looked up. Her face was filled with astonishment, and then joy, and a smile in the end.
Elvis bent to be closer to Nola. He kissed her tenderly, “I’ll love you for the rest of my life, Nola!”
Nola felt like she was walking on air. She didn’t gather her sense until Elvis went out of her room. What did they do?
Confession?
But wasn’t it too quick?

When seeing Nola staring at him with a blank look, Elvis was worried and touched her forehead, “Are you okay?”
“I’m all right! But it’s so unreal.” They quarreled and gave each other silent treatment. Who said to keep them apart but broke it and got closer now?
Nola was not sure whether it was the right decision.
But anyway, she decided to be honest with their relationship this time. Even if they didn’t get a happy ending, at least she wouldn’t regret the decision she made today when recalling it.
