Chapter 61
As the head of the family, it was the first time Myles bowed his head in his own home, and he didn’t even dare to speak loudly.
Although the Grayson family was a big shot to cling to, Myles thought Elvis was not a good son–in–law but a hot potato who was difficult to handle, and Myles must be careful at all times.
But now, Myles had no chance to regret it.
Elvis‘ goal had been achieved today after bringing Nola back to the Grant family.
He didn’t care what these people thought of Nola when she was in the Grant family before. He came today to warn the Grant family that Nola would be protected by him in the future. If anyone touched her, it would not be easy to get even like today.
Elvis knew Nola didn’t want to fall out with Myles because Nola’s mother had a deep affection for Myles. Besides, Myles was Nola’s father and this blood tie couldn’t be denied.
Elvis would do his duty and behave with courtesy. He was Nola’s husband, so he couldn’t go too far about her father.
What he said today was a warning to the Grant family and let them learn the lesson.
“You are Nola’s father. No father would treat his daughter like this. Chase has said everything. Don’t you want to say anything? I just want to know who insisted on marrying Nola to the Joan family.”
Obviously, this question was for Myles.
“Mr. Grant, you’re the head of the family. Could it be that you did such a thing?” Everyone was silent, and Myles was also very awkward.
This idea was proposed by Lelia, and she was also the one who contacted Chase. Myles just agreed and did nothing else.
“What? You don’t know about this?”
Myles understood what Elvis meant. He wanted Myles to give Nola an explanation.
Myles bit the bullet and turned around suddenly. Then he smacked Lelia’s face so hard that even his hand was a little numb.
Lelia never expected that Myles would suddenly slap her. She stumbled and fell to the ground with blood on the corner of her mouth. She covered her face and stared dumbfounded at Myles standing in front of her.
She had been living with Myles for so many years, but he never beat her. Now he slapped her because of a word from an outsider. Lelia was so wronged and her eyes turned red immediately.
“Myles, you slapped me?”
“It’s all your fault. You came up with this lousy idea. Although Nola is not your daughter, she has been living with you for so many years. Why are you so cruel? You contacted Chase without telling me and sent her into a lion’s den. I shouldn’t be deluded by you and listen to you!”
Myles blamed Lelia viciously. She was speechless and understood his words.
But Myles had given his consent to this before. Now she had to bear it alone when they were in trouble. Myles‘ slap not only hit Lelia on the face but also cast a shadow on her.
Her husband had her to be blamed without hesitation. What else could she say?
“Mr. Grayson, are you satisfied with this solution?”

Chapter 61
“It doesn’t matter if I’m satisfied or not. I just want to remind you don’t forget who the head of the Grant family is.”
Elvis got up, straightened his suit, and stretched out his hand to Nola.
Nola got up and put her hand in his palm.
“We have some things to do, so we should skip the dinner and leave you to deal with your family affairs.” Elvis said with a polite smile, “Mr. Grant, my father has reserved a seat in Skylark Restaurant tomorrow at noon. Please come and discuss our wedding with my father.”
Hearing these words, Myles finally felt at ease. Everything he did was not in vain for setting a date for the wedding.
“Great. Since you have something to do, I’ll leave you to it. I will be there on time tomorrow.”
Elvis was afraid Myles might take Lelia and Tanya tomorrow and reminded Myles, “Tomorrow is a family meal. I don’t want any unimportant person to appear. I think you should understand what I mean, right?”
Those unimportant people mentioned by Elvis were Lelia and Tanya apparently.
Tanya’s good mood was completely ruined by Elvis. If she didn’t have a strong heart, she might explode in a fury. But the most wronged person was Lelia.
Ever since Lelia married into the Grant family, she had never been wronged like this.
In her heart, all of this was Nola’s fault.
Myles nodded repeatedly. It didn’t matter who went to the dinner. What was important was the wedding which would be discussed at the dinner.
They wouldn’t lose anything once they got the engagement gifts from Nola given by the Grayson family.
Myles carefully sent them out. Elvis pulled Nola into the car, fastened her seat belt, and closed the car door for her.
When they turned around, Myles was still standing at the door, and Lelia with a slap mark on her face was also standing in the cold wind to see them off.
“Please rest assured. Nola and I have a very good relationship. If you expect us to divorce, it’s impossible for you to see that day.”
“So you’d better give up!” Elvis thought in his mind.
Myles twitched the corners of his mouth in the wind. Probably only Elvis could say such words in such a gentle manner and humiliate him at the same time.
Nola saw Myles‘ face darken again and didn’t say anything when Elvis got into the car. After the car drove away, she praised Elvis immediately. “That’s amazing. You’re my hero!”
“You got that? Don’t do it yourself again in the future.”
Nola nodded seriously, indicating that she had learned. Elvis was in a good mood, especially after being praised by Nola. He suddenly felt that it was not bad to have a girl who always admired him by his side.
“What did you say to my dad? I noticed his face darkened again.”
“Take a guess!” Elvis smiled and didn’t tell her.
Nola didn’t dwell on it. She knew it must be some kind of harsh words, otherwise, Myles‘ face wouldn’t be so livid.
Nola used to face these things alone. She didn’t even remember how long she hadn’t been protected like this.

She smiled and even felt the coldness outside the car window warm.
“Elvis!”
“Huh?”
“I’m glad to have you by my side.”
Elvis smiled and said softly, “Silly girl!”
Nola’s words made Elvis feel distressed. She must have suffered a lot in such a stifling environment.
She suffered in silence and compromised again and again. Even her father didn’t love her. Nola also had to take one of her mother who was ill. She lived too hard in the past.
From now on, Elvis would not make Nola live so hard again.
Nola thought that they were going back to Breeze Garden, but the car drove elsewhere.
“Where are we going?”
“Take you to a good place! If you don’t show up again, I’m afraid those guys will wait for us in our house?
