Alexander frowned, displeased. “You’re so thin, why are you only eating this little?”
As he spoke, he grudgingly fed Aveline another spoonful, causing her cheeks to puff up like a little
squirrel.
At that moment, the door was pushed open, and a woman in formal attire and glasses stood at the doorway. “Mr. Sterling, I need you to look over these documents…”

She had the demeanor of a man who would leave after being satisfied.

Alexander gazed at her back, feeling a mix of emotions.
Aveline looked at the bustling city outside, but not a single light belonged to her.
Alexander put down his chopsticks and walked up behind her, asking in a deep voice, “What are you
thinking?”
Aveline’s voice was calm. “I was thinking about your engagement banquet with Nora. I heard she chose a hundred–acre cherry blossom field, and when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, it must be incredibly beautiful.”
