came through, and Aveline’s hands were covered in a thin layer of cold sweat. She spoke in a steady voice, “We want to bid her farewell.”
“Alright, just don’t take too long. I’ll be waiting outside for you.”
The staff left, and a cold gust of wind seemed to come from nowhere, startling Aveline into rushing
into Owen’s embrace.
Owen wrapped his arms around her waist and let out a faint sigh. “You really don’t belong in a place
like this. Go outside and wait for me. I’ll be out soon.”
“But…”
Owen’s expression turned serious. “I’ve seen enough dead bodies. There’s nothing I haven’t seen.”
Despite his words, Aveline didn’t leave. Owen sighed helplessly. “Then just don’t look, I’ll describe it
to you.”
“Okay.” Aveline finally agreed to his suggestion.
She retreated behind Owen, her gaze fixed on the dark patterns on his black jacket.
Feeling his arm exerting force, she watched as his hand pulled the lever smoothly and effortlessly.
When the body was pulled out, a foul stench hit them.

Owen’s voice was calm, but Aveline was already trembling with fear, even though she knew that Owen was doing this to confirm whether Sheila had aborted the child.
“She has stretch marks on her belly. Normally, miscarriages happen within 1-3 months. By four or five months, the baby is fully formed, and stretch marks usually appear later. The fact that there are stretch marks means the baby wasn’t aborted. Let me confirm it again.”
