“You already are. What difference does it make?” he replied.
Unable to fathom his thoughts, she could only pick up the planning proposal and ask, “What about
this plan?”
“I said you’ll handle it. Don’t disappoint me,” he commanded.
Despite lacking ambition, Aveline found herself pushed to the limit by Alexander.
“Yes,” she responded.
Alexander shifted his gaze away from her and said, “Since you’re unwilling, then leave quickly.”
