Aveline did think so, but what Alexander was about to say next truly shocked her.

Aveline shook her head upon learning the truth. “No, it can’t be. My father…“.
Before she could finish her sentence, Alexander’s long arm brushed past her cheek, and he took out a thick stack of documents from inside, throwing them in front of Aveline.
