As she pushed open the door, the warmth of the heating enveloped her. She took off her shoes and walked a few steps, seeing someone busy in the kitchen.

This scar was from three years ago when they had just started dating. They encountered a thug who was holding a sharp knife and was about to stab her. He didn’t hesitate to block the attack for her.
Alexander was skillfully stirring the pot when someone suddenly hugged him from behind. Aveline buried her head in his back, causing his movements to pause.
He casually stirred the food a few more times and turned off the heat. He stood in front of the stove without turning around, his voice low, “Where did you go?”
“I went to the hospital to get my hand stitched up.”
He knew her personality well. Even if she had a small cut from a knife before, it would still bother her for half a day. She must have fallen hard this time.
No matter what Nora said, Alexander was not blind. She wanted to harm Jamie, but she also wanted to save Jamie. He could distinguish that clearly.
“Thank you for today. Jamie didn’t get hurt.”
After saying that, Alexander skillfully plated the dishes from the pot and served the rice and soup.
