At this moment, the dream changed. Instead of being surrounded by seawater, she found herself in a beautiful sunflower field. In the field, a child was running and laughing.
“Mommy, come chase me?” the child called out.
“Child, my child,” she exclaimed..
She finally caught up to the child and embraced him tightly. I found you, my baby. I’m sorry. Mommy will protect you properly this time.”
She turned the child around to look at his face, and to her surprise, it was Jamie’s chubby face.
Before she could fully process her astonishment, it started raining from the sky. She hurriedly fled with the child in her arms, getting soaked by the rain.
Aveline woke up from her dream and as soon as she opened her eyes, she saw a chubby little face. The rosy little mouth was drooling and about to land on her face.
Alexander acted quickly, reaching out to catch the drool. The awkwardness between them was palpable.

In this unfamiliar environment, Aveline chuckled self–deprecatingly. “Is this a dream? Or am I already dead? To dream of all of you like this.”
Alexander furrowed his eyebrows and asked coldly. “Is that how much you want to die?”
“Yes, if I die, I’ll be free,” Aveline replied, thinking that this was still a dream. She reached out and pinched the chubby face of the little one, feeling how good it felt. “Living is so tiring.”
Jamie couldn’t understand their conversation, but he just liked Aveline. He kept crawling towards her and calling out, with drool dripping from his mouth. “Mama, mama, hold me.”
The way he said “mama” sounded similar to “mother.” Aveline’s eyes instantly turned red. “What… did you call me?”
Alexander didn’t stop him. If even Anthony couldn’t keep her, she needed a new bond.
And he was proven right. This child pulled her back from the edge of death.
“Mama, kiss,” Jamie said.
He could only say simple repetitive words. Strangely enough, when he was with Nora, he never made sounds similar to “mama.”
Several times, when the nanny was present, Nora tried to teach him, but she didn’t get the response she wanted. She even said that he was a fool, that he was one year old and still didn’t even know how to call his mother.
But now, Jamie’s mouth was sweet, constantly calling out “mama, mama.” Aveline tightly embraced him. as if he was her lost child.

The child’s drool dripped onto her neck, cool and real to the touch. It instantly brought Aveline back to reality.
She looked around and realized she was in a hospital room, with a faint scent of disinfectant in the air.
Alexander stood by the bed. Although his expression didn’t change much, his black eyes showed a rare hint of concern. “How are you? Are you okay?”
So, this was neither a dream nor hell
