These words were particularly harsh, and yet she had no choice.
The hand that stopped him had to let go, and Alexander reached into her down jacket. Underneath was a sweater, and underneath the sweater was a padded vest. And inside the padded vest was another layer of
warm clothing.
He furrowed his brows, puzzled, and asked, “Are you an old lady? Why are you wearing so many layers?”
Blushing, Aveline bit her lip and replied, “I’m afraid of the cold.”
Soon, Alexander realized something. Even though she was wearing so many layers, she didn’t look fat at all. Just how skinny had she become?
The evil thoughts that had just arisen in Alexander’s mind disappeared completely, replaced by an invisible sense of guilt.
Aveline didn’t know how things had turned out like this either. She stared at his pitch–black pupils with displeasure and said, “Are you not afraid of Nora finding out about your behavior towards me? Don’t forget, we’re already divorced.”
Alexander’s cold and disdainful voice came through, “You have no right to interfere in my affairs with her. I agreed to your proposal just now. From now on, you will be my substitute.”
Aveline hurriedly spoke up, “What about Leo…”
“I will find him.”
With his promise, Aveline finally breathed a sigh of relief. The man’s gaze locked onto her like a hook, “And as for you, you must be at my beck and call whenever I have a need.”
Aveline couldn’t believe he had said those words.
In the shimmering tears in her eyes, Alexander’s icy fingertips brushed across her cheek, his voice taunting and contemptuous, “I suddenly realized something. It seems that I still desire your body, and every time I touch you, you feel like you’re dying.”
Alexander’s cold and ruthless gaze saw through her heart, “What better way to torment you than this? Don’t you agree?”

Aveline, enduring the pain surging in her stomach, asked with a weak voice, “Alexander, will you regret treating and torturing me like this someday?”
“I only know that I laugh when you’re in pain.”
Aveline never expected that their relationship would turn into something like this.
At her request, Alexander sent her back to her apartment. “Won’t you invite me up for a cup of coffee?”
At this point, it was obvious what he meant. He wanted to finish what they hadn’t done in the car.
And she had no reason to refuse.
Maya had returned to her own home these past few days, leaving the apartment empty.
The door opened, and Aveline didn’t even have time to turn on the lights. She rushed to the bathroom first, emptying her stomach of its contents.
After vomiting, her head cleared a bit, but the alcohol had irritated her stomach, causing even more intense pain.
The pain made her curl up on the ground, sweating like a shrimp.
This kind of agony spread from her stomach to every inch of her body, even her breath carried an overwhelming sense of pain.
Aveline was in so much pain that her head felt dizzy. Was she going to die?
She bit her lip tightly, afraid to let out even the slightest sound.
Alexander waited outside for a while but didn’t see her come out. He knocked on the bathroom door, “Aveline, what’s wrong with you?”
“I… I’m fine,” she forced herself to say, “Just wait a moment, I’ll clean up and come out.”
After all, she had just done a medical examination a few days ago, so Alexander didn’t think she had a serious illness.
He assumed that Aveline was just feeling embarrassed, so he walked away.
Little did he know that at this moment, Aveline was curled up in a ball, clutching her stomach, in so much pain that she couldn’t catch her breath, let alone move.
