Story1–Chapter 1
Ms. Solomon, your marriage certificate is fake…”
The staff looked into Carissa Solomon’s eyes with a hint of pity and sympathy.
“And according to the system records, Mr. Warren Knapp had already registered marriage with a lady named Madilyn Archer half a month ago.”
She heard that her boyfriend of six years secretly obtained a marriage certificate with his first love
behind her back.
Carissa was not very surprised.
“Okay, thank you.”
After saying that, she put the fake marriage certificate into her bag, put on sunglasses, and leave.
Standing at the entrance of City Hall, she sent a message to Emma Todd.
“Emma, I go with you to start a business in Dimborough.”
Emma seemed busy and did not reply immediately.
Carissa put her phone in her pocket and hailed a taxi by the roadside. She handed the driver an
address…
She didn’t return home until late in the evening, exhausted. Just as she took out her keys, she heard
the elevator’s sound from behind.
Warren walked out and asked with a smile,
“Carie, where did you go?”
Carissa stared at the smile on his face, momentarily taken aback.
“I went to the place where we got our marriage certificate. I originally wanted to take a few more
photos as a memento, but I found that it had turned into an empty space. Do you know the reasori
As she spoke, she stared at Warren without blinking, trying to catch a glimpse of guilt on his face.
Upon hearing these words, the man only stiffened for a moment, then resumed his usual calm
demeanor.
“You must have taken the wrong way. We have already obtained the marriage certificate, so we can take the photos later when we have time. I brought macarons for you, the new product from the brand you like. Try them later and see if you like them.”
With that, Warren handed her the package in his hand and pushed open the door, heading straight
towards the bathroom.

Carissa lowered her head and weakly tugged at the corners of her mouth.
Warren, we have no future.”
She silently walked into the study and put the fake marriage certificate back into the safe.
Three days ago, after receiving the marriage certificate, Warren quickly locked it in the safe
without showing it to her.
At that time, she naively believed it was a sign of that he thought their marriage’s importance.
Until last night, Carissa woke up to drink water, but unexpectedly heard him making a phone call on
the balcony.
“Warren, how did you end up with Madilyn again? You pursued her for a whole three years, and in the end, just as she agreed to be with you, she eloped with someone and went abroad. She almost drove you crazy. Please don’t tell me you still like her.”
Warren remained silent for a few seconds before slowly speaking up,
“I got married to Madilyn half a month ago. Her parents forced her to marry an older man, and I couldn’t bear to see her suffer like this…”
Carissa stood frozen in place, as if trapped in an icy dungeon.
Both she and the person on the other end of the phone knew that Warren’s reluctance was far more than just “couldn’t bear.”
He never really let go of Madilyn.
After six years, she thought that she had finally fulfilled her wish and could spend the rest of her life with her beloved.
But she finally understood that she had never entered Warren’s heart from the beginning to the
end.
“City hall” was fake, the marriage certificate was fake, and all six years of the relationship were
also fake…
How ridiculous and how sad it was.
Since Warren has already married Madilyn, there is no need for her to stay here and humiliate herself.
From now on, she would embark on a future without Warren.
