Chapter 10
The vehicles came to a stop outside Parnassus Villa.
Looking at the empty entrance, Ruth took off her sunglasses, Where was Llam?
Didn’t you say that a surprise was prepared for her?
Why didn’t he come out to pick her up when she was finally divorced?
With a puzzled mind, Ruth pushed open the unusually quiet door.
After a loud thud, the cheerful and delightful plano music seamlessly played.
And in an instant, the originally pitch–black living room also became as bright as daylight, illuminating all the hidden situations in the darkness.
The living room, adorned with freshly decorated pink roses, was filled with a light floral fragrance. Countless familiar or unfamiliar faces were smiling, pushing a gigantic castle cake out of the room.
Dressed in a black tailcoat, Liam sat in front of the piano, his delicate and refined face filled with a focused expression. His fingers danced like wild bees, and the sound of the piano poured out like a gushing spring.
Seeing such a dreamlike scene from afar, Ruth felt her heart skip a beat.
She was enveloped by a vague feeling, and unconsciously followed the sound of the piano.
Step by step.
When finally stopping by the piano, the last lingering note came to an abrupt end.
Liam lifted his eyes, which were brighter than the stars, and magically raised a bouquet of roses in
front of Ruth.
“Ruth, thank you for choosing me and coming by my side.”
As soon as the words fell, a tsunami–like celebration sound came from behind.
“Ruth divorced happily!”
“Congratulations to Ruth for winning the heart of a beautiful woman!”
Recently divorced Ruth was still not accustomed to such a bustling scene. She gently pursed her lips, a hint of embarrassment flickering in her
eyes.
As Liam looked at her slightly blushing earlobes, a faint smile appeared on his face, and he stood up
to embrace her.
The surrounding jeers grew louder and louder, Ruth buried her head in his neck, but she could still
hear his laughter in her ear.
“Ruth, do those words you sald to give me a status still hold true now?”
Ruth was slightly taken aback, lifted her head and looked at him in surprise, then nodded gently
under his earnest gaze.
The next second, Liam withdrew his hand that was placed around her waist, then took two steps back and half–knelt on the ground.
The audience at the scene saw his action and the screams became even more intense, almost flipping the roof.
When she saw him take out a box from his pocket and open it, revealing that pure and sparkling diamond ring, Ruth felt like her breath was about to stop.
She only vaguely understood that he had gone to such great lengths today to prepare such a surprise and ask her that question, what was it all for..
But the fact was just as she had thought.
Liam grabbed her hand and placed a gentle kiss on her ring finger on the right hand.
Facing her, facing all her friends on both sides, he asked that question with utmost sincerity.
“Ruth, would you give me a chance to become your fiancé?”
Everyone on the field held their breath simultaneously, and after he finished proposing, they all shouted out the phrase “together” in unison.
Ruth’s heartbeat kept accelerating amidst the rising cheers wave after wave.
She looked into those close, expectant eyes, and in her mind, countless Instagram of being together
with him flashed by rapidly.
When they first met, he reached out and supported her, who was drowning her sorrows in alcohol due to heartbreak. As she cried uncontrollably, he gently wiped away her tears.
When she said she wanted to support him, he happily embraced her and said that it was his honor to
be seen by her.
In countless sleepless nights filled with tossing and turning, he was by her side, talking about many interesting topics to make her happy…
It was Liam who made her believe that her life had not reached a dead end yet, and she still had a chance and strength to start over.
It was also him who made her believe that her passionate love, like moths to a flame, would not drown in the abyss of a hopeless marriage, but would be reborn–after nirvana.
She crossed over the night that was as nightmarish as a nightmare and arrived at dawn.
And what supported her to come out, waiting for her at the finish line, was always Llam.
So even though she had confusion about the future and felt uneasy about entering into marriage. after just gaining her freedom, all of this dissipated because of the person in front of her.
She made the most heartfelt choice and gave the most resolute answer.
“I was willing.”
