Story2–Chapter 1
“Greta, are you really leaving Kayson to go abroad?”
In a quiet café, Greta Walter put down the spoon in her hand and looked at her friend on the opposite side with a puzzled expression, speaking in a calm tone.
“I’ve already divorced him.”
“What?!” Cassia Paxton was shocked by the explosive news. The next second, she stood up for her
friend and said, “Kayson actually agreed? You’ve been so good to him for the past three years. He should have fallen in love with you, right? Does he really have no feelings for you at all?”
Greta smiled and her eyes sparkled slightly.
Actually, she didn’t know if he agreed or not.
Half a month ago, when she handed him the divorce agreement, he signed it while talking on the
phone, without even listening to what she said, and hurriedly left.
He didn’t even mention it later.
After half a month, she’d be able to get a divorce and finally be free.
Just as she was about to speak, a deep and low male voice came from behind them.
“Have you finished talking?”
The two girls turned around at the same time and saw Kayson Brady approaching them in a black coat, taking long strides.
Cassia was still immersed in her anger and was about to approach and ask for clarification, “Kayson, just now Greta said she and you will…‘
“How did you come here?”
Greta soothingly patted Cassia’s hand and shook her head at Cassia, interrupting her words at th right moment.
“I saw that it was going to rain later, so I came to pick you up on my way.”
Greta smiled, said goodbye to Cassia, and grabbed her bag to go with him.
On the way back, the rain was drizzling, but there was silence inside the car.
Kayson had married Greta by accident years ago. Facing his wife, his thin lips twitched slightly. He wanted to speak several times, probably to find some topics, but then he remembered he hadn’t ‘been home for half a month.
After a long silence, he finally remembered something and spoke up.

“Greta, what was the document that you had me sign half a month ago?”
It had been so long, and he only nbered to ask?
Well, during this period of time, he was staying with Luella White, so how could he care about these trivial matters?
Greta pursed her lips and was about to speak when Kayson’s phone rang again.
“Kayson, I drank too much and my head hurts. Can you come pick me up?”
As he listened to the slightly coquettish tone on the other end, Kayson gripped the steering wheel, and his expression darkened.
“Luella, I’ve told you many times that I was already married.”
There was a moment of silence before she finally said, “So what if you got married? The bride at that wedding was originally me.”
This indifferent tone infuriated Kayson.
Married for three years, Greta had always seen him as composed and reserved, but this was the first time she’d seen him lose control.
He suddenly stepped on the brake, and the car made a loud noise as it scraped against the ground.
“Did you come then?!”
There was suddenly silence on the other end of the phone.
After a moment, the voice on the other end became somewhat choked up and said, “I’m sorry, I’ll never bother you again.”
Soon, the call was hung up, but Kayson’s expression did not improve. On the contrary, it became even more gloomy. His fingers tapped on the steering wheel, and after a long while, he finally completely compromised and reluctantly typed a few words.
“Send me the address.”
After checking the address, he turned his face with a full expression of apology.
Greta knew what he was going to say and spoke up first, “If you have something to do, go ahead and take care of it. I’ll just take a taxi back.”
Watching her open the car door and hold an umbrella, Kayson couldn’t help but feel a little guilty. He whispered, “I’ll come back to accompany you once I finish my work.”
‘Greta nodded.
She stood in the rain, watching him driving away, with complex emotions welling up in her eyes.

This was the seventh year she had liked Kayson.
she still remembered the scene when she fell in love with him at first sight on the basketball court.
He was in his basketball uniform and nailed ten shots in a row. He broke through the opposing team’s defense all on his own and became the star of the game, totally hyping up the crowd.
The fangirl beside me screamed and told the newbie all about him.
Kayson, a tech college grad, was a campus legend at Aelhedge University and came from the prominent Brady family in Aelhedge.
Unfortunately, this campus heartthrob only had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, Luella, and they had been together for years.
He would do anything for Luella, even renting out the entire amusement park to prepare a surprise, just to celebrate her birthday.
He would have begged for reconciliation in front of the whole school, just because someone confessed their feelings to him, but Luella played a little trick and deliberately blocked him.
He would wait in the snow until his hands froze, even if Luella stood him up for a manicure appointment with her roommate, he still had no complaints…
During her four years in college, Greta heard countless love stories of Kayson and Luella.
She always thought that she would be like a supporting character in a romance novel, witnessing their union.
Until two years ago, Kayson couldn’t wait to marry Luella as soon as he graduated.
She did not receive an invitation, but she still attended the century wedding in the name of their
classmate.
The wedding had already started, but Luella still didn’t show up. Kayson went crazy and made ninety–nine phone calls, but all he got was a text message from Luella saying that she didn’t want to get married so early and had already gone abroad.
Kayson’s patience finally ran out on that day.
He no longer indulged her unreasonable behavior and picked up the microphone directly.
“Today, I, Kayson, decided to find a new bride. Is there any single lady interested?”
Greta, who had always been quiet and unassuming, felt her heart pounding at that moment. She knew that too many people liked Kayson. So, as soon as he finished speaking, she immediately stood up.
That day, she put on the ill–fitting wedding dress and married a guy who couldn’t even remember

her name.
For the next three years, the couple respected each other and lived in peace without any issues.
Until over a month ago, Luella came back.
Greta watched Kayson. He was pushing Luella away but couldn’t stop himself from moving closer to her. Greta knew her dream was done.
She should have given back the title of Mrs. Brady.
Let him be with Luella and free herself completely.
In the pouring rain, Greta sent a message to Kayson.
The document you asked about was placed in the drawer of your co–pilot seat. If you want to know what it is, just open it.”
