Chapter 7
It wasn’t until the next day at noon that Kayson finally woke up groggily.
His consciousness had not fully recovered, and the first words that came out of his mouth were
“Luella.”
“Was her surgery successful? How is she doing? Has she woken up?”
Watching him in a hurry, Greta, who had stayed up all night without sleeping, nodded her head
hoarsely.
“The doctor said nothing serious happened, just rest for a few months and you’ll be fine.”
Upon hearing this, the stone that had been hanging in Kayson’s heart finally dropped.
But he still wasn’t reassured, he lifted the blanket and was about to get out of bed, saying he wanted
to go and see for himself.
No matter how much Greta tried to persuade him, he wouldn’t listen. In the end, it was the nurse
who happened to be there for the infusion that stopped him.
He looked at the big bag of medicine packets, a hint of worry flashed in his eyes, and his heart was
filled with concern for Luella.
After thinking for a while, he caught sight of the fruit basket on the cabinet and finally found an
excuse.
“Greta, yesterday I called Luella’s parents. They flew back to the country overnight and should be at
the hospital now. Can you help me deliver the fruit basket to say hello and also check on her
condition?”
Greta stared at him fixedly and it took a long time before she finally nodded.
She picked up the fruit basket and left the ward.
Luella lived upstairs.
Greta was about to knock on the door when she noticed that it was slightly ajar.
Through the crack, she saw Luella lying affectionately in the arms of a strange man, her voice filled
with sweetness.
“Nick, didn’t you say you were going to introduce me to your parents? Why did you come alone?”
“I wanted to bring my parents here, but you were still seriously ill, and the timing wasn’t very good. When you get discharged from the hospital, I will take you back, okay?”
Upon hearing this conversation, Greta’s hand clenched tightly.

.
Is Luella in a relationship? Are they going to meet the parents?
The doctor who was making rounds happened to open the door, startling the two people in the
room.
Luella’s face instantly changed when she looked up and saw Greta.
“How did you come?”
Greta did not answer.
She put the fruit basket on the ground and turned to walk downstairs.
Luella dragged her still unhealed body out and chased after her, grabbing her at the staircase.
‘Are you planning to go back and complain to Kayson?”
Greta turned her head and looked at the fleeting panic on her face, her tone icy.
“Since you already had a boyfriend, why did you keep clinging onto‘ Kayson?”
Upon hearing these words, Luella raised an eyebrow and quickly regained her composure.
“I just wanted to have the best of both worlds, playing them in the palm of my hand, enjoying their goodness towards me, can’t you see?”
“Did you have to trample on his sincerity towards you like this?”
Watching her indignant expression, Luella sneered, her voice filled with arrogance.
“I had the capital to make them go crazy for me, even someone like Kayson, who is a prodigy, was no exception. What’s wrong, are you jealous? Why not just admit it openly? Who knows, if I’m in a good mood, I might even be willing to teach you.”
Her arrogant and proud demeanor left Greta speechless.
This silent silence made Luella even more proud.
She scrutinized the person in front of her, and her gaze finally landed on the wedding ring on her
hand.
“You were just a scavenger, what qualifications do you have to challenge me? Let me tell you, back then I didn’t even go abroad, I just got drunk the day before and stayed in bed all night with two senior students. If it wasn’t for Kayson and me being stubborn, you would never have had a chance
to become Mrs. Brady in your lifetime!”
Greta’s long–suppressed anger erupted completely at this moment.
She couldn’t help but raise her hand and gave Luella a slap.-

She didn’t hit hard, but Luella fell down the stairs as if she had been struck heavily.
www.
Greta hadn’t figured out what had happened when she was pushed aside by Kayson, who had just stepped out of the elevator.
P
He took big strides down the stairs, picked up the bruised and battered Luella with a pained expression on his face, and looked at her with hidden anger in his eyes.
“She didn’t offend you, why did you have to be so harsh?”
Luella deliberately revealed the crimson handprint, crying in his arms with tears streaming down
her face.
“Let it go, Kayson. Greta probably thought I was your ex–girlfriend and got upset. I don’t blame her. Let’s go.”
The words blocked in Greta’s throat, preventing her from saying what she wanted to say.
Looking at his face slowly sinking, she knew that no matter how she explained at this moment, it
would be in vain.
This silence fell in Kayson’s eyes, tantamount to consent.
He moved his eyes away disappointedly and left, holding onto someone.
Never again, did I look at her.
