Chapter 16

Greta found Sharon’s car in the parking lot.
She opened the passenger door and leaned forward, catching a glimpse of someone sitting in the
back seat.
Out of politeness, she didn’t look closely, thinking to wait for Sharon to introduce.
After fastening the seatbelt and taking a seat, the person next to me remained silent, but a familiar
voice came from the back seat.
“Did you rest well, Greta?”
Upon hearing the familiar sound, Greta suddenly lifted her head.
Through the rearview mirror, she saw a familiar face.
It was Kayson.
One day without seeing each other, he looked very tired, as if he hadn’t rested for a long time.
But those eyes that looked at her were clear and determined.
At that moment, many words surged up in Greta’s throat, but she didn’t know what to ask.
Finally, he remained silent.
The carriage fell silent.
One minute later, Sharon finally realized that something was wrong with the atmosphere and
quickly turned around to give her a glance, helping to smooth things over.
“Greta, this is your classmate Kayson, don’t you remember him?”
“He just landed at the airport and called me immediately, saying that he wants to get together. I thought since you guys are classmates, we could have a meal together. You shouldn’t mind, right
Greta was concerned.
In front of Sharon, who knew nothing about their affairs, she needed to remain calm.
So she could only pretend to be unaffected, forcing a smile in response to her.
“Sharon, you can make the arrangements, I’m just feeling a bit dizzy due to jet lag.”
Sharon nodded with a smile, indicating her to slow down and then started communicating with
‘Kayson in the back seat.
“Kayson, are you okay? Do you want to go back and rest first, and we can meet up later?”

Kayson hasn’t slept for over thirty hours.
But he knew that it was not the time to rest now, so he shook his head gently.
“No need.”
“Let’s have a meal first then, I have already made a reservation at the restaurant. It seems like you
two didn’t interact much when you were in school, I didn’t expect us to have such a coincidence of
meeting in Fieldhurst after graduation.”
Did we meet by chance?
Although Greta kept her head down, she could feel the burning gaze behind her.
She knew that since Kayson had come, he must have come to find her.
The leader of the Brady Group, who grew up surrounded by applause and flowers, was unexpectedly
divorced by this unknown ordinary person.
It must have been unwillingness in the heart.
She closed her eyes, pressed her temples, and tried to get her brain working, in order to deal with
the possible situations that might happen next.
On the other side, the conversation between the two individuals continued.
“It’s not a coincidence. I came to Fieldhurst for an important matter, so it was inevitable to meet
Greta.”
Judging by his tone, it seemed like he was familiar with Greta.
Looking at Greta’s appearance, the two people seemed unfamiliar again.
This chaotic relationship left Sharon feeling a bit confused.
“So, you came to look for Greta? Did you often keep in touch after graduation? Are you close?”
“Generally.”
Greta answered the question before he had a chance to speak.
Upon hearing these two words, Kayson’s gaze deepened significantly, and he slightly pursed his
lips.
“Are you really classmates for four years? Our relationship is just average now, but we will become
closer as we interact more in the future. By the way, Kayson, do you have any work this time you come to Starryholt? Are you alone? Did you not bring your family with you? I heard that you got
‘married, and your wife is also a classmate.”
Upon hearing these words, Greta’s heart raced a bit, and she involuntarily clenched her hands.

After a while, she finally heard Kayson’s somewhat hoarse voice.
Yes, but not long ago, she asked me for a divorce. I came to Starryholt this time to deal with this
matter.”
Sharon didn’t expect that a casual gossip would actually involve someone’s privacy, and she instantly felt a bit embarrassed.
Greta didn’t want to continue this topic anymore, so she immediately changed the subject.
“Sharon, what kind of restaurant did we book for today? How much longer until we get there? I haven’t eaten anything since I woke up this morning, and I’m pretty hungry.”
Sharon glanced at her appreciatively and quickly picked up the conversation.
“The restaurant is just a few hundred meters away. We’re almost there.”
