Chapter 21
After putting the luggage in the hotel, the rain stopped.
Greta arrived at the restaurant carrying her bag and met Cassia.
The two sisters hugged each other tightly and sat together to talk about their recent lives.
When Cassia heard that she had taken half of Kayson’s net worth, her mouth opened wide enough to swallow a plate.
She suddenly threw herself into Greta’s arms, ignoring the strange looks from everyone, screaming uncontrollably.
“Ah! My best friend has become a rich woman now, damn it! I am now clinging to your thigh; does it mean I don’t have to worry for the rest of my life!”
Greta quickly covered her mouth and apologized to the disturbed customers around her, then immediately moved to a private room.
When there was no one around, Cassia finally glanced around and spoke softly.
“Did the money arrive?”
“I did arrive, but I didn’t dare to spend it, as there was always a feeling that any windfall would be
taken back.”
Cassia couldn’t bear to hear these words and, holding her hand, earnestly tried to console her.
“What windfall came flying in? This is your legitimate income! Since Kayson is so generous, just take it and use it. What’s there to be embarrassed about? It’s not like you held a knife to his neck and forced him to marry you!”
That’s actually quite reasonable.
Cassia saw that she slowly let go of her worries, picked up the menu with a cheerful smile, and without even looking, slapped it directly into the waiter’s hand.
“Give me a serving of the most expensive lobster you have here!”
After finishing the pose, she was satisfied and proudly showed off. “How did I just perform? Did I capture the essence?” ~
Greta gave her two thumbs up, intentionally trying to tease her.
“He looks handsome, just don’t know if Ms. Paxton still has the confidence until the receipt is ‘delivered later.”
“Ah! Greta, it was you who invited me, right? Otherwise, let’s go fifty–fifty…”

After a satisfying meal, Cassia was content.
Greta looked at her satisfied expression and rang the bell to call the waiter.
Just as I was about to pay the bill, a strange and sarcastic voice came from behind me.
“Hey, isn’t this Greta?”
The two sisters looked up when they heard the sound, and they saw a group of people coming down from upstairs.
Most of them were students from Aelhedge University, flocking towards Luella as they walked
towards us.
Seeing them, Cassia leaned in to Greta’s ear and whispered gossip.
“Greta, the day after you left the country, the news about Luella juggling multiple relationships
spread like wildfire because it involved so many people. It even trended online. I heard it was
Kayson’s brothers who started spreading the news, and ever since then, her reputation has been
tarnished. She realized she couldn’t handle the situation anymore and went to beg Kayson for
reconciliation, but he completely ignored her. You should have seen her pale face after being rejected, it was hilarious.”
Luella happened to walk over to the table just as she faintly heard them discussing about her, and
her face immediately turned dark.
She glared at Greta with anger in her eyes and a tone of annoyance.
“Greta, didn’t you go abroad? Why did you come back again?”
“It had nothing to do with you.”
“What are you proud of? Do you think that just because you’re back, you have a chance to be with Kayson again? He never cared about you before, and now he definitely won’t!”
Greta didn’t know why she had such a strong animosity towards herself, even though she had
already divorced Kayson.
But she also didn’t want to argue with them, so she paid the bill and pulled Cassia to leave.
Her disregardful attitude infuriated Luella even more, blocking the way directly.
“You relied on stealing half of Kayson’s fortune by rufning my wedding, but you’re just a cunning gold digger. What are you pretending in front of me? Even if you got that money, what’s the use? Look at the poverty–stricken smell that can’t be concealed all over you, don’t bother me.”
