Story3–Chapter 1
Three hours before the wedding, my fiancé said he wouldn’t come to pick up the bride, and instead turned around and got married to Fiona Morton.
I endured the gossip of the guests, while Leroy Martinez, the uncle of my fiancé, pushed open the
door of the hotel.
He brought the most luxurious wedding procession, presented 9,999 roses, and said he had secretly loved me for many years, dreaming of marrying me.
I was moved by his saving me from embarrassment and immediately nodded in agreement.
I had been married for three years, and I had seven miscarriages before finally getting pregnant again.
Leroy held me close, spinning me around with a mix of heartache and joy. He told me to rest well and promised to cherish both me and the baby with his life.
Three months pregnant, I happened to witness him talking to a private doctor, “Mr. Martinez, just like the previous seven times, the abortion pills for your wife have already been mixed into the
milk.”
“I don’t understand. Fiona could give birth to your child. Why don’t you let your wife have the
baby?”
Leroy self–mockingly said, “Only by giving birth to an heir can one take over the conglomerate. Jeffrey is infertile. I don’t want Fiona suffer in the future.”
The so–called deep vows turned out to be nothing but lies.
Since that was the case, I would leave.
“You not only gave up the opportunity to become the next chairman of the group, but also lost your
seven children with your wife.”
“You’ve always had me forge the physical exam reports for the scion. He still doesn’t know he’s infertile. When the child is born, it won’t even be able to call you ‘Dad.‘ Is it really worth it?”
Leroy’s expression was affectionate yet melancholic. “So what? Since I couldn’t make Fiona marry me back then, I will protect her happiness for the rest of her life, and no one can destroy it, even if it’s the child of me and Bryanna.”
The doctor hesitated, “Madam has already had seven miscarriages. If she has another one, I’m afraid she may never be able to conceive again in the future.”
Leroy pursed his lips and after a moment, he said, “It’s okay. Anyway, I would take care of her for a

I held the back of the study doorknob, and the veins on my hand bulged, trembling uncontrollably
Before Leroy found me, I ran back to the bedroom in a daze and sat down on the floor.
I always thought it was because of my weak body that I couldn’t keep the baby, resulting in seven miscarriages in three years.
Leroy’s father had long made it clear that whoever, whether it was Leory or his grandson Jeffrey Martinez, produced an heir first would become the next chairman of the company.
Because of multiple miscarriages in a short period of time, my body was severely weakened. Despite this, I never complained about anything and even felt guilty, thinking that I was burdening
Leroy.
Those passionate vows were nothing but a lie.
To keep me from getting suspicious, he wouldn’t even use contraception, letting my health get worn down over and over again.
In his eyes, my body and the miscarried children were nothing but obstacles on Fiona’s path to happiness.
“Bryanna, why are you sitting on the ground?”
Leroy walked into the bedroom and quickly helped me up, with a concerned look on his face.
“I’m fine. I had a little morning sickness just now.”
He helped me straighten my back with tenderness, making me breathe more comfortably. “Darling, you’ve worked hard, Next time when you feel uncomfortable due to morning sickness, remember to call me instead of enduring it alone. I will feel sorry for you.”
“You couldn’t sleep well after you got pregnant. In the future, when the child is born, I will have to give him a good spanking so that he won’t hurt his mother.”
“Come, have a cup of warm milk. It’ll help with sleep.”
Looking at that glass of milk, a wave of pain surged in my heart. Will there really be another time?
Every time before I had a miscarriage, he would either prepare a late–night snack for me thoughtfully or personally make a fruit salad that I love.
I thought that was his way of showing love to me, but it turned out to be the executioner’s disguise.
“Honey, I didn’t like the taste of milk. Can I not drink it?”
Leroy smiled helplessly, but his tone was not to be refused, “Bryanna, don’t be silly. The doctor said that the more you dislike eating something, the more it means that your body lacks it.”

“If you didn’t sleep well, the baby wouldn’t rest well either. Don’t you love him the most? Listen, for the sake of our baby, let me feed you, my dear.”
He coaxed and forced the rim of the cup against my lips, not giving me any chance to refuse.
Leroy, are you so afraid that my child would block Fiona’s way?
Or perhaps, in your heart, you were only willing to let her bear your child.
I closed my eyes in despair and drank the whole glass of milk.
In less than half an hour, the medicine started to take effect. I curled up in bed, sweating profusely from the pain.
Leroy had just finished calling his private doctor when someone entered the door, clearly someone who had been waiting outside for a while.
Even though I had already experienced it seven times, losing a child again still tore my heart apart.
In pain and daze, I heard the doctor say, “Mr. Martinez, Mrs. Martinez had a miscarriage and the amount of bleeding was greater than previous times. I’m afraid her body has been severely damaged and she can no longer conceive.”
Leroy didn’t say anything, with red eyes he hugged me and said, “Bryanna, don’t worry, even if we don’t have children, I still love you, and I will take care of you for the rest of my life.”
The president, who used to have everything handed to him, personally helped me clean the blood stains on my body. He was afraid that I would feel cold after a miscarriage, so he tightly held me in his arms while sleeping.
Late at night Leg
at night, Leroy, who was fast asleep, murmured in his sleep, “Fiona, don’t be afraid. I will definitely help you find happiness.”
The tears that had been held back for a long time completely burst at this moment.
At the wedding back then, he also said he would give me happiness, but it was just a lie to appease me and not disturb Fiona.
I suddenly realized that my marriage over the years was just a joke.
1 sent a text message to my best friend who was far away in another country: “You mentioned last time that you wanted me to accompany you on a round–the–world trip. I have made up my mind. I’ll go to Greycastle to meet you the day after tomorrow.”
